Well the pens are red hot right now so I’ll take it. I want boring right now. We’ve been a tire fire giving up loud chances every night bleeding rush chances and goals. I will happily take boring hockey for a few weeks if it means we figure out how to settle down. We have too many skill guys not to figure out the rest.
Boring is the new excellent.

I missed it, can you summarize?
I mean they asked him his immediate emotions, pretty standard. But Buccigross asked him a question that was like, "Knowing that they wanted to trade you in the summer, that this day would come, do you wish you did it back then and had more control?" Which makes odd assumptions and is just kind of like...I don't know, a tough thing to ask a guy that was just moved. And Weekes said something about being a native Michigander and how did Trouba feel about Detroit being interested, would be want to play for his hometown team? And Trouba was like, uh, sure I've thought about it, but...*awkward laugh* someone should maybe verify with Detroit that they were interested, did anyone try that? And Weekes was all quietly like yeah I did. LOL. It was super awkward. And Bucci closed by saying "We know these are difficult times and difficult days, thanks for joining us" instead of just being like, thanks for taking a moment, good luck on your new journey!

The whole thing was like something you'd do with a guy in the offseason or at minimum a few weeks later. Not like 6 hours after the trade, LOL.

That Trouba interview was pretty rough. Made me take the Rangers jersey off and hear his side of things. That line about not regretting deciding to stay with his wife and son really hit me.

That being said, this is a job and consequences for underwhelming performance is standard in every industry. You get paid the big bucks for consequences like this. And he ended up in Sunny Southern California.

Yep. As a husband and father, I totally felt that too, and was like, yep, I get that. I know I don't make $8M, but on principle I get it. As you said though he played himself into the situation.

Everyone looks better tonight no?

it's the pens...

when a team has had the stretch they've had and then a few days off to reset, you'd hope to see a whole lot more emotion and intention to their play.

slightly outplaying a doormat in the first period without the team/bench really showing emotion or energy isn't exactly inspiring

There is absolutely no question Mika is moving his feet more tonight with more urgency. It is pretty nice to see but is it sustainable without meat? Guy looks like he snuck a slimjim in the locker room before the game.
