The lack of scoring is just... unfathomable. It's like, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Pucks hit feet and bounce over sticks and things that seem like you might see once in a hundred happen over and over.

:banghead:
Luck is part of the game, but it seems like the more talented teams get the most luck.

"While Chicago has scored just three goals in the third period in eight home games this season, the Bruins have just one in 13 games that came on Oct. 10. There is no surprise that these two teams rank 31st and 32nd in goals per game either."

Article from 2 days ago...so make that 14 games now. What the hell has happened to these guys?

They looked a bit sloppy against the Islanders, which to me was a bit concerning because i was noticing a lot of the same trends that essentially got Montgomery fired. Sorokin having a rough night kinda covered a lot of that. My thought was "was it just an aberration or did the dead cat stop bouncing?"

While i think in my opinion it is still too early to tell, i really don't like those same trends appeared again tonight and were worse;

- Defense lost any semblance of structure. For the love of god break up McAvoy and Lorhei. McAvoy hasn't been great in his own right this season but sticking him with a boat anchor isn't helping in the slighest. At this point i would be fine with sending Lorhei to the AHL.

- This offense is pathetic. 30+ shots on a guy with a sv% of under 870 and all you can manage is a single goal? What is this, 2010?

- Back on the offense; as it turns out, Tyler Johnson is not a top 6 forward in 2024. Who knew? Nor is Morgan Geekie. Nor is Trent Frederic. Weird, starting to notice a pattern.

- 12 straight home games without a single third period goal. Call it overreaction, call it cherrypicking, i personally call it alarming.

It's pretty much what i thought; Was Monty a problem? Objectively, yes, You could see it in the way they played prior to him getting fired. But was he THE problem? Starting to look like no given Sacco can't get shit out of that trash heap of a forward group either. Cam and Don's seats better be mighty f***in warm right now.

People calling for a trade, i don't disagree with you but at the same time what could you realistically move to get value back? The guys that have value being moved wouldn't fix anything and would be lateral at best. I don't think trading Pasta or McAvoy fixes anything, but at the same time good luck trying to dupe somebody into giving you something of value for a Carlo or Frederic.

Final straw for whT. You want a decision after this game? Trade everyone? They’re going to have ups and downs still, or did you expect them to go undifeated?
No shit. Tristan Jarry isn’t a stiff. They had opportunities but he stood on his head. The effort was there. Power play is abysmal but screaming to trade Marchand, Pasta, McAvoy etc is chicken little overreaction.

Yeah but they gave us hope, however brief and fleeting lol.
Not me. I was waiting to see them play a good team before I got my hopes up.

I’ll keep watching and hope they surprise me, like the Islanders game. However my expectations are low from here on out.

Sacco isn't even the issue here, the defense as a whole has been way better under him.

The top 6 is a disaster. The lack of a 1C and 2W is killing them.

The PP is the most uncreative thing I've ever seen. It's worse than the Bruins PP in 2011 when they went what 0-30 at some point in the playoffs?

The fact that they abjectly refuse to call up anyone with an ounce of skill from Providence is maddening.

Jarry coming into this game was allowing basically 5 goals a game and saved 86% of the shots he faced.

He has been absolutely atrocious this year.

Pasta is giving me dreams of Murray.
