Askarov is an adventure out there. Supremely athletic and massive, but some questionable fundamentals.

On the first goal, he was way off his angle and left way more open net than an NHL goalie typically does.

Yeah he’s not ready, he has the physical tools but he has to work on his skating and his save selection, it’s pretty terrible.

Sure. I imagine AHL shooters are not going to punish you for bad habits quite as reliably as NHLers will.

Nope and him learning that now when no one expects anything from him or the team is a great way to move forward with the rebuild imo. Askarov probably isn’t going to learn much in the AHL anymore.
