The floodgates will open eventually. This team needs to sustain the defensive effort while they build chemistry. Don’t get discouraged about losses like last night. Incredibly frustrating, the definition of even, but you just have to keep pushing forward and building those good habits
This

as a whole, that was probably their best full game effort this season. Am I concerned they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn? You bet. But if they are playing like that most nights then at least there are no what if’s.

McAvoy is by far having the worst production of his career right now. If you want to make the bet that at 26 years old he is on the decline, I think it’s about as good of a bet that raising tariffs won’t raise prices.
You have your opinion and I have mine. Like always time will tell, not bets.

Thanks! I needed a dose of optimism today!

Who is saying he is the key stone of the return? I "suggested" 3 parts with Schneider, Kreider and NYR #1 for purposes of discussion.

If you think its a better than 50\50 chance McAvoy with Boston has had his best days its not heresy to suggest a move.
The Athletic pegs McAvoy’s trade value as the fourth highest among defensemen, and 15th overall. A late first, an aging power forward with a big AAV, and Braden Schneider isn’t close to the ballpark you’d want to get if you traded him. It’s trading a quarter for two nickels and a bag of pucks.

man do I wish I had your optimism. I see a team that has far too many underperforming. For my money, I`d move out Freddy and Geeks , two dudes contributing zippo

Marked improvement defensively and I do see a bit more zip throughout the team but this is beyond worrisome for this fan, team can`t score, hell, even our scorer Pasta can`t score

Well they fixed the defence. Next step: fix the offence!

Edit: "You really should wear more sweaters". One of the great lines in tv history. Up there with "I'm with the firm Emerson . . Lake . . . . . . and Palmer" and "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly".
And don't forget: "Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night?"

I remember that fight.
Hagler got screwed.
We need a scorer on every line.
This will be another 2-1 game like the Red Wings score.
Pass on Frankie.
Want us to trade for Mangy ( Mangiapane) on the Capitals, maybe he and Lindholm can find that magic they had on the Flames in 2021-2022?
Hard pass.I watched him long enough here in Calgary to know that's a band-aid solution.

My daughter wanted to go to this game tonight and I told her not to bother. They just are not playing well enough to pay the money. She is now looking at the Rangers game in Boston just into the New Year.

Not sure there’s much water backed up to cause any flooding unfortunately.

Hell baby
Just keep firing rubber at the net, getting to the dirty areas, and playing to the whistle and you’ll earn some puck luck

Last night was a loss but it’s how they need to play to win. Smothering on defense. Lankinen was just up to the challenge and they didn’t get any luck around the net

I know everyone is wanting to move Frederic and Geekie and while I don't disagree, their trade value is miniscule at the moment and they'd probably fetch more at the deadline. That said, I'm afraid we don't have the luxury of waiting that long.

What good does trading McAvoy for Chris Kreider do for you?
That would be the end of my season tickets once and for all. Its not about trading him its what the return is. It better be a hell of a lot more than Kreider.

He has absolutely declined in play the last two years which NOT COINCIDENTALLY is the same time #37 retired. You may think he can exceed his peak Bruins years but Bergeron & Chara aren't walking thru those doors to elevate 73's play. IMO his days as a top 5-6 defender in the NHL look behind him. Right now he isn't even playing as a NHL wide top 15 d man and hasn't for over a year.
This has to be sarcasm

I really think you have it backwards.

His linemates were playing better last year because Pasta was playing better. They aren't playing as well this season because he isn't playing well.

That seems pretty obvious to me watching him play.

We can agree to disagree on this one- I enjoy the conversations.

Geekie might have been their best forward last night
