Brick later received an explanation and he still said “I need more.” The explanation was essentially “there was no hand pass”The officials in this league suck at explaining the reasoning behind calls and overturned calls.
Part of it might be a language barrier for sure.
I know Brickley couldn’t hear the ref’s mic last night.
Raycroft called the league out for the shit explanations. I agree.
Watch an NFL game for comparison. Listen to the referee explain why a call was changed. They may not get it right, or you may disagree with the interpretation, but it’s night and day in terms of how it’s articulated.

I don’t think it should be ruled a hand pass either. But based on what I’ve seen in the very recent past, the NHL usually considers that a hand pass
