Goalie interference is what happened there. League just favors certain teams, NJ has gotten multiple rigged lotteries and personal favors from Bettman.

No one does, including the refs.

In the blue paint that should absolutely have been interference. Outside the crease it's less clear, though the last part of the rule states:

"In exercising his judgment, the Referee should give more significant consideration to the degree and nature of the contact with the goalkeeper than to the exact location of the goalkeeper at the time of the contact."

The player contact Talbot's blocker and head. To me the blocker contact was early and significant enough that it should be GI even outside of the crease.

Well, that and the soft hooking call on Holl. If the Devils player stays on his skates the refs don't call it.
