For the record Gagner buried the wrister to win the SO after Cam potted the first on a nice wrap around burst. CMac stood tall and stoned DuClair & Vrbata (both had great attempts)

I know Doan has been a Jacket killer, but I love the passion that guy has always played with. Tough to see a Warrior like that finishing his career with this group.
Had to work late, so could only keep track of the game via the phone alerts. Thought it was all over until got the alert that Wenny scored. Got to my car, and just missed listening to the SO winner.
These guys have got to start dominating these teams. They can do it. Post game on the radio was talking about how terrible the ice was, but that is no excuse because it affects both teams.
Still, where was the D? What, around 95 SOG combined, with 61 for the CBJ? Maybe like Doan said, Mike Smith is just one hot goalie right now, otherwise maybe this game is over early.
Will be there tomorrow, and really don't want to see a stinker.

I can't imagine what the Phoenix Coyotes feel like today.
My team gave up 93 shots last night. 60 of them were on-goal. We blocked 18 of them. The other 15 missed the net. Our goaltender had a .966 save % last night, and lots of those shots were from the slot - not out along the walls.
To support our goalie, we took 5 shots in one of the periods we played. We had a lead and supported him by taking 4 shots in the 3rd period. It took the entire 5 minutes of overtime to take 7 additional shots that got us over 30 in total for the night.
We lost the game.
Now..................after all of that..........................we have to get on a plane, and play this same team again.................................IN THEIR BARN.

Instead of their highlights, try 'condensed games', it's about 5-7 minutes of all the goals and proper highlights.

Thanks but I think I was watching the exact same clip through https://highlights.hockey/CBJ.html which usually works better than the official NHL sites... who around a month ago managed to block entire Scandinavia from viewing their highlights content for a while at least. Anyways, made it bit more surprising to go to overtime right after Campbell Atkinson, infront of the goal, forgot the words of Juti: "like Jari says: up from the close" opting for pads instead.

In the post game presser Torts said he wasn't sure what he had yet. He said ask him again at 40 games. Spoken with the wry smile of a poker player he is obviously trying to keep this team on an even keel and keep them under the radar as long as he can.

Currently sitting in 5th in the entire NHL with enough games in hand to sniff first this team is about to hit the radar. With that is going to come a whole other set of issues to deal with.
Great problem to have, reminds me of a conversation I had with a Chicago fan at the last home game last year. He recollected when the Hawks sucked and how they evolved to win cups. He said it was a process of ups and downs but the important part was to enjoy the journey. Monday will be another step in the journey as the Yote's should bring an edge to their game.

Just to clarify, my "Wenny the Pooh" reference is a term of endearment, not a criticism of his play...
Loved that game last night. Perfect example of the grit of our team. Torts has us playing hard til the last second and it is really giving our team an identity.
Feels good to hear positive things about the Jackets from outside the CBJ bubble.

I thought Torts' quote in his presser about his own self-critique in the second period was very interesting too. He said "I don't think I did a good job coaching in the second period, because I was very frustrated with the team. The team and I both agreed to take a deep breath there, go out and play." Is this more evidence of his personal growth and taking on a different coaching style than previous incarnations?
