Hell baby
Schaller seemed to reinvigorate the Krejci line a bit

D has held up surprisingly well for how banged up they are

well that was fun

good job Hayes

Great job by Spooner taking the demotion and having a good game

great job by the D, K.Miller having his first good game back from injury is good to see. Good game by Krug and C.Miller...Carlo had a real good game too..same with Mcquaid. Way to step up by the D after losing Liles.

Rask Amazing

Bergeron looked good
Pasta ****ing amazing

Krejci line looked more engaged

we got a PP goal
I'm happy.

Still don't know what this team is but whatever, scoring goals n winning, good day.

still unsure with Riley Nash getting 15 minutes of ice time n Spooner getting 10 but whatever...the third line looked like the 4th line today.

Yup, I thought they were going to lose by a good margin when they went to to 5 Dmen. I thought Krejci was a bit more noticeable today then in games past which is good.
Schaller seems to be playing better and better, even though he hasn't scored much.

Where is the beer, lol. Schaller was good on that line got them moving there feet more. Krech, Bergy and Backes looked like the vets we need to rely on. Spooner, Krug played good and hayes "get that monkey off my back" was rewarded. Pasta again great game, Millers looked good as all the dee. If Liles is out Morrow can fit in no problem

Good win. Impressive considering we only had five d for most of the game. Even without stamkos, they are still a dangerous team.

I do think Bergeron is playing through something.

Great game and lots of fun to watch. Tampa missing Stamkos, their Captain, seems to be having an effect. Imagine that, no Chara does the same to the Bruins. ;)

The D did much better than I thought. After JML was hurt, I thought the D would suffer but they did very well.

We all needed a win like this! :handclap::handclap::handclap:

Thats sucks. Ive been off all week and dread going back tomorrow.
Im gonna love retirement.

Me too.
I took the week off since I hosted dinner this year and it's just easier to get all the cleaning, cooking and shopping done without dealing with work. At least the Pats game is earlier than initially scheduled.

Have fun at the Philly game, Sooshi. I always enjoy when we play the Flyers. The team really put forth a good effort today, especially considering the depleted D corps. Nice for the kids in the crowd to see a win. I always felt so bad when there were little kids at the matinee games and the team would lay an egg, they were so sad.

I will be in Philly for Tuesday as well and also dealing with that issue I have been having in Bucks County. Looking forward to a cheesesteak.

I was planning to slow down this year but I miss it when I don't work.

Yes, Fenway, best wishes to you on dealing with the issues surrounding your friend's remains. I'm still dealing with my dad and uncle's estate stuff, and it's coming up to a year. If anything it teaches you patience. Make sure to post your food pics. :)

The shifts with Krug + Colin out there together showed why you still need big bodied D in today's NHL. Good games from all the D, but especially Krug, Carlo and Kevan.

Jimmy Hayes scores, and Bruins break out to beat Lightning

The Bruins scored the first of their three second-period goals at 2:24. After an offensive-zone faceoff, Ryan Spooner sent the puck up to Colin Miller. The defenseman came off the blue line and got the puck down to Dominic Moore, who whacked a shot past Ben Bishop for the opening goal.

The Bruins took a 2-0 lead after a power-play goal. With David Backes in front and Patrice Bergeron manning his bumper position, Torey Krug fired a shot on net. Bergeron and Backes both tipped the puck before it beat Bishop at 12:30.

The unlikeliest Bruin capped the outburst: Jimmy Hayes, who had fired blanks on his 33 previous shots and failed to record an assist on anybody else’s goal. David Krejci carried the puck down the left wing while waiting for Hayes to join the rush and set up in front. Hayes gained net-front position and redirected Krejci’s pass past Bishop at 17:33. After the puck went in, Hayes reached up behind his neck, pretending to toss a monkey from his back.

On the couch
Considering we were down Chara and JML for the bulk of the game, I'll take this win. I'm surprised the Lightning have managed to remain afloat after Stamkos being sidelined. I wasn't going to be too excited about the win because of that, but losing TWO defensemen (neither of whom is on my naughty list) really put the Bruins at a disadvantage, and they had a great game except for the last 5-10 minutes.

I don't care about losing the shutout - that's just a number, and Rask has a crapload of 0-goal and 1-goal games. Enough that it should give us a playoff position if we could actually score. In general, I do care about the fact that we seemed to tail off a bit at the end...but with five defensemen probably averaging about 22:50 TOI, I can see how that happened.

The way Jimmy scored today is the only way he's going to score. As soon as the Bruins have possession in the offensive zone, he just needs to go stand in front of the net. He doesn't have a chance at being useful anywhere else.

Schaller did look good. A couple of slick moves and played physical. He totally eluded Hedman with a quick move on that long Carlo breakout pass to go on a partial breakaway. Liked that line a lot today.

Rask was his usual self. Too bad a 3rd late goal in the last few games has cost him another SO.

Congrats to Hayes! Finally a goal! That line was also very good with Moore and Hayes scoring and Spooner playing well. If the Spoon can't dominate other team bottom-6 with his skills, there is something wrong. Good matchup advantage for Julien.

Pasta scoring again. Sweeney will probably regret not extending him when he could have since July 1st. 2nd only to Crosby. What a steal at 26th in 2014.

Great win.

Missed the game, did Liles get hit from behind into the boards?

Nice to see the boys beat a solid team

I returned to work this afternoon, so I couldn't catch the game.

Thanks so much for the Instagram clips, Fenway.

I'm happy for Jimmy Hayes, and hope this is the beginning of better things for him.

Looking at the score sheet they surrendered the shutout late in the game, but that's not a big deal.
