Pretty happy with that game. The amazing thing is that at 5v5 the sharks had the better expected goals advantage (1.51 v 1.37).
Thought Walman had one of his worst games to be honest. He’s making some ‘default’ plays the other Sharks tend to do which leads to turnovers. Only stood out because the rest of his play this season has been great.
A real big issue with the D is there complete lack of awareness of what’s going on around them. Thrun, in particular, doesn’t some really dumb things. Before taking his high sticking penalty, he made a nice fake to make space on the forechecker - but then sent the puck to where he faked to. Why? Then there is the weird chip over the blue line with the goalie pulled that is just frustratingly bad.
Not sure what Warsofsky was thinking moving Dellandrea from the third line in favour of Kunin. Seems like he was bored and just wanted the change.
But on a positive note - Eklund and Granlund really are a pair of studs. So f***ing good.
