Reinhardt should really have a permanent spot.

He's been getting work done everywhere over the past few seasons, in Belleville and his short stints in Ottawa. When he plays, the 4th line looks much better

Cousins wasn't a great signing.
If Cousins is our 13th fwd, that's not a bad signing, he shouldn't be an every day guy the way he's playing though.

Tbh, the 4th line was the least of our problems for most of the season, slowed down a bit during the skid though.

Yeah Cousins has been a whiff, I really thought he was going to be a good addition - he’s just brought nothing to the table.
13th forward for me, easily. I’d have him behind Reinhart and Ostapchuk as well.

Awesome yo get a W. more awesome to finally se the team play with fire and urgency again. I wish I believed they will keep playing this way.

I’m down south at a vacation destination this werk, unfortunately prime doesn’t have rights to play game live everywhere. But I watched it in a streaming site, holy hell it is is so much better than what we normally get.

Sandy was going, team was going. I think he is definitely key, he needs to keep it up. If Pinto starts cooking and they keep up the intensity, we will have a team.

I really liked the Prime broadcast, except for those ad cutouts that take up most of the screen while the game is going. Only happened a few times but that's that American-fication of sports broadcasting that I don't want to see become a regular thing. Apart from that, would love to see a lot more games on Prime.

They got the donuts? Excellent....
Watched it for free but it was the Prime stream. Ignoring PQ that obviously wasn't the same using unofficial means, I didn't think the broadcast presentation was anything special. It was fine but I'd still rather have skipped everything but the 60 minutes of hockey itself.

I really loved the absence of sports betting advertisements. I can't even remember what the ads were now but they weren't the same 4 or 5 ads that Sportsnet and TSN keep playing during their broadcasts.

I hadn't realized just how starved for goals Cgy has been,

How they have 12 wins and 27 pts when their leading scorer has 13 pts is wild. Wolf has been their MVP, if he drags them into the playoffs, it might not just be calder consideration, he'll be in the discussion for Vezina and Hart (not saying he'd win them, just getting votes).

I must say my experience with prime hockey was not the greatest.

Normally when I PVR a game, I just have to press the forward or backward button to skip a specific time ahead or back and it loads instantly, and the quality is always perfect.

With prime, if I press forward, I then have to press play to stop the fast forwarding...but this pauses it...so I have to press play again.

So to fast forward the standard commercial break on pvr meant me clicking the forward button 3 times really quickly and the tv automatically jumps ahead 1:30.

With prime it's this annoying process where I have to wait for the time go keep going ahead by 10 seconds...so I have to wait for it to change 9 times to get to 1:30 and then press a button a couple times.

Doing this every commercial break or whistle is so time consuming. And then you have to wait a second or two while it loads. And the picture quality goes up and down because it's a stream depended on bandwidth and how many users are streaming... It's like the Tyson Paul fight...annoying waiting for loading times.

Anyone else notice little things that prime is worse at than your normal viewing???

There was one or two excessively sloppy plays that probably set the tone for those comments, Sanderson's giveaway and the Norris one come to mind.

Overall though, I thought we played well, that said, Wolf was great and Forsberg made a couple huge saves so the score could have been very different.
Yeah. Neither team was perfect. Both goalies played well.

That’s what majority of hockey games look like.

One thing I don't like with Prime, can't rewind and fast forward... but why?

Oh great, 4-3

To be fair, Wolf is ultra talented

We need to get TWO players like Joseph to replace Amadio and Perron

Problem is term.
I could rewind on Prime; however, it was not visually indicative of how far back I was rewinding. I could then play it from there. Could also FF from there, but again no visual indicator of where it was as I was FFing. I am on Bell Fibe.

Win always feel good , you don't care how you get them.
I agree with the first part but not the second. Being anal et al.

I liked the 4th line last night. Maybe promoting some AHL guys for 4th line duties wasn’t a bad idea? I get the idea of acquiring vets, but many of those moves have been underwhelming so far.

We finally came back for once after not scoring the first goal. And we got a goal when creating traffic in front of the net. Forsberg looked OK, and I thought Sanderson had a good game finally.

Calgary sure took a lot of penalties though, and I thought we could have or should have capitalized more on those opportunities. Then the game wouldn’t have been so close at the end.

Yes I noticed that too but not the details you did. The FF and back movement was not clear to me where to stop and then press play. I wish I had access to slo-mo on Bell Fibe. Is there a way to do slo-mo on Fibe?

Keep Perron out! Please 🙏
I wonder what our Pro Scouts rated Amadio and Perron at regarding speed. Neither player has any.

You can rewind back or go forward on ESPN+ and the precursor NHLTV as well, and those features have been available on streaming sports package services for a while. They (ESPN+, etc.) also have a Replay (archive) function so that you watch games that have already been played days/weeks earlier whenever you want. Prime is not an innovator when it comes to this and these functions have been available for years on other platforms/services.

Generally speaking I’m not crazy about trillion dollar companies that are in one industry expanding into other industries (content, etc.) like Amazon, Google (Alphabet) & Apple. They are already into the payment industry (as a middleman) as well, so they force you to become a customer and to pay a (sometimes high) price for something that not everybody needs just to get something else like a few sports games. It might be time for antitrust laws (assuming that works).

In the United States, things are so fractured when it comes to sports and following your fav teams. Here is the list of services that I need to check to see if the Senators (or other NHL games) game is on their service or channel:
  1. ESPN+ (used to advertise they carry over 1,050 games, but this year they advertise over 1,000 games)
  2. regular ESPN (cable) for a few games per year
  3. NHL Network (cable)
  4. Madison Square Gardens 1 (MSG 1)
  5. MSG 2 (MSG 1 & 2 for games involving games with New York state teams and NJD)
  6. TBS
  7. TNT
Note: #2 - 7 are on cable

It's just getting too fractured with all of the services you need to watch your favourite team/sport, and its expensive. It can take several minutes just to figure out where the game is being played.

ESPN+ is pretty good for hockey and it provides over 1,000 games for $120 per year. That’s good value relatively speaking versus paying $X (e.g. $15) per month for just a handful of NHL & NFL games.

I think that's a bit premature to say. Rookies usually start hot and cool off as the grind goes on. There are a million examples of that. Let's ride this wave and see how he goes in game 5 on.

I was doing that at the beginning but then I noticed if you hold the FF button, you get a "scene selection" popup, then you can just skip to the spot you want which in our case would be the faceoff.

Strong first period for the Sens. They seemed to be more committed from the start. I thought they were the better team but the PP time likely had a lot to do with that.

I mean, we've watched Cousins flounder, and be a hinderence, for 21 games in that role.

It's just as much that the team is better with Cousins off the ice than it its better with Reinhardt on it in the same roles.

Too many bad penalties for Cousins for his role. Has been adequate otherwise. A bit slow. Wouldn't hurt to have him replaced on the 4th line by Rhino or Ostapchuk when Gregor/Perron draw back in.

Cousins is very replaceable.. I like giving Rino a chance.. there are other guys that can fill that role too.

I like Ostapchuk's game . I wonder if they try to keep him up for a while.

It's time to call a spade a spade. Yes, goaltending has been an issue, but we brought in Amadio and Perron to be positive additions offensively to the bottom six - as well as being good pros. Same with Gregor and Cousins, but they were real cheap. I realize Perron has had issues, so it's tough to point the finger there, but those 4 guys' stats:

58 games played, 11 points, 5 goals.

And cost over 7 million dollars.

You can flip the dialogue and say Staios got Gaudette for pennies etc. , but that is why we're losing IMO. Zero bottom six scoring and it's absolutely dragging Pinto through the mud too.

Ya I didn't get any ads on my feed, but I did notice they still had some betting talk/advertising in the intermission segments.
