epicHabs playing game 3 from their 4-game west coast swing today and they've notched 4 points in the first two games. Yesterday against the Sharks, they've managed a win by going to extra shooters (3-2).
The final result came off the stick of Jesse Ylönen, who had been benched from the end of the 2nd period. The goal was a hilite reel variety and hopefully earned him more ice time and better deployment.
Ylönen's usage has been a point of contention since he oozes a lot of talent but is not garnering significant opportunities. All of which led @Tyson to suggest that he gets no respect, just like Rodney Dangerfield.

Equally of note, Struble notched his first NHL point.
And Primeau was at his Optimus Prime best, recording 31 saves in regulation time that included several convincing stops. He also posted an assist on Cole Caufield's goal.

A trip to LA also means a re-acquaintance with former Hab, Philippe Danault, who signed a 6-year deal with the Kings in the summer of 2021, after having spent 5 seasons with the Canadiens. Hopefully, he's liking his local pizza these days and if not, he's making more than enough dough to afford his own chain of restaurants.

And of course, visiting the Kings also signifies that the Habs will be in the digs of their former GM, now a special adviser to Kings' management.
Bergevin had been spotted at the Bell Centre on Nov. 16th amongst a large scouting contingent in attendance -- I believe it was the very first time he had returned to the Bell Centre since his contract termination. What was he doing there?
We can't help but remember the terrible slew of contracts he doled out just before he got fired, some of them handcuffing the team to this day. It's like he pulled one massive Django Unchained moment before making his exit.

Amongst the several blunders punctuating his tenure were his pigheadedness in how he dealt with fan favorite Andrei Markov. And, how he chose to pass the coaching reigns to this guy ...
![]()
To most fans, Ducharme might as well have been doing this instead of the type of coaching he displayed.

Anything could truly happen and sadly, did ...
![]()
Also, a big thanks for Lolzner. At least he proved to be a great help to the equipment staff in Laval. Lolzner left such a grand impression that his contract remains on the team's books.
![]()
Not helping, was the guy Bergevin was reporting to and who continues to baffle with his decision-making.
![]()
Which has led to all the more trash to put out on the curb.
![]()
But hey Marc, we believed all of the insane promises you made, like your idea of putting together a playoff team while building through the draft.
![]()
We know, we know ...
![]()
Not always clear cut, we know ...

Really hope you're enjoying LA ... or, maybe not so much. We knew that you'd be a Buddy Hire somewhere.

Funny stuff but there is a flaw @OldCraig71 in that Gallagher will never see the ice in OTHabs 4-3 in OT, the game-winner scored by Gallagher, and MB can't contain himself, runs onto the ice, and hugs his son on live TV. Thanks for the GDT @Runner77, I still have PTSD from the Bergevin years but you helped me laugh about it.
Maybe Kings will trade for Gallagher mid game and he will just need to remember to go to the right bench.Funny stuff but there is a flaw @OldCraig71 in that Gallagher will never see the ice in OT![]()
Any ceremonies planned for today? Should I budget another 30 minutes before the puck drop?
Kills rivalries.I know everyone was whining like babies when the league had their schedule heavily skewed towards divisional matchups back in the late 2000's, but I must say that that I would prefer that over what we have now.
I think with 32 teams, and the mandate to play every team at least twice, it's gotten to the point that the divisional matchups have become too few and far between.
There's just too many games now where I don't feel that emotional connection. This whole California trip, I have not been able to tune in, and frankly, it hasn't bothered me either.
Not going to lie I expected them to get 16 total for the year.wow -

It's like the dmen are trying to show the forwards how it's supposed to be done.wow -

Do we know the lineups? Yoel should get first PP time. I feel like the anticipation of him being recalled really sparked CC and he scored. So... more Yoel!!!Tell me the Kings are wearing their shiny, shiny helmets this afternoon.

Just once I want to see them play the Habs with them on.
Gonna be rough pour les boys, but hat trick for Armia if he is there.
I never check the lineup prior to puck drop, I like to be surprised. If Armia plays he can get an honorary shiny helmet.Hoping no TSN stream today... the sound last 2 games was half of what it usually is. Tried other games and sound was fine, so it's the network. Bleah.
