I’ll chime in positively on this; it’s not DD’s problem that he was our best #1C option. That’s sorta lost in all of this. So weird. He wasn’t blocking anyone from acquiring a better option, but at that time Bergy was obsessed by not selling assets for current assets (Vanek was a robbery of epic proportions btw).

He only had to do a trade for a better player. Weirdly he could trade second rd picks for players but he wouldn’t touch his 1st even knowing that they’d be 25th overall…

I’m not blaming DD for that shit, it kept MaxPac happy btw, never forget that fact. DD did fine, even though he was overextended.
