I really hope we don’t trade Granlund. He’s sorta everywhere and is constantly making plays happen. He’s such a good guy for the kids to look up to and play with.
Also, man, it’s so fun watching Eklund grow into his game.

There’s no doubt that Bedard will score a lot of goals in this league but I’d rather have Celebrini, quite frankly.
Sharks aren't going to have many more opportunities at a late 1st round pick. If Granlund can manage to return that for renting him, I don't want them to pass on that. I'd absolutely look to bring him back in the offseason if he's willing to be overpaid on a short contract. But if he wants to win because of his age, it's hard to not let him get that opportunity.

granlund has been a g so far for us, i will be a fan wherever he goes.
He feels like this era's version of Vinny Damphousse. Really good player helping things along but Grier's got to do what's best for the team one way or the other.

Yep. Sharks need to amass whatever picks they can this year and next, because after that you start having to sign the big boys.
I wouldn't be shocked if he ended the season near-PPG.

It just doesn't fit with the timeline since Granlund will likely want a long-term deal.
Cap space aside, I imagine that next year the Sharks would still have plenty of use for Granlund as the #2C behind Celebrini or a 2nd-line winger. But the year after that...you hope that guys like Musty, Chernyshov, Graf, the 2025 and 2026 picks, etc. are pushing for space. Or, if the window has opened, you can use the asset you gained from trading Granlund and package it with something else to fill a hole.

1. Love that the lund line is back. They were buzzing all game. Should never have broken em up. Should never break em up again.
2. Love Walman. Not sure how he and zetts got crossed up in the goal, but is is superb at both ends. Smells of a 5 year extension. Even into the mid 30s.
3. Liljegren has been excellent. Great addition.
4. I’m done with Ferraro. He’s bad. Just bad. Fine at a third pair I guess, but nothing more.
5. Celly and smith were ok, but smith tries to be way to f’in cute with little touch passes and soft plays. Dude, you are not mcdavid, yet, so play harder. Oh, and for gods sake, hit the net. Celly gave up a breakaway and looked a bit short on confidence… of course until the Or winner
That said, kids are looking more and more like nhlers.
6. Grundstrom was my unsung hero of the night. He was all over the puck, hard in the forecheck. Great setup to kunin. 4 sog. All in under 10 mins. Loved his game. I wouldn’t mind giving him a shot up ge lineup and letting syllandrea have a little bench time to think about his play.
All in all, Detroit was terrible and both teams showed their colors. Sharks deserved to win but made some ridiculous errors with an own goal, too many men penalty, o zone tripping…
Still, what a fun game!! And a W!!!

Anecdotally, all my friends who are fans of other teams have been talking about how great Eklund looks. That always feels good to hear it outside this echo chamber

Celebrini is such a trip. Whenever I watch him I feel like he barely has control of the puck and is so comfortable with such a loose handle; he’s sorta at peace in chaos.
Smith is the opposite, where he seems to require the puck comfortably cradled on his stick to operate how he wants; very deliberate and tactical.
Probably not much of a revelation; but that is partly how I make sense of Celebrini’s offensive success and Smith’s very positive signals without so much in the way of results.

Gotta love the butthurt Red Wings can flipping off the Sharks as they celebrated towards the end of the video. Zetterlund saw it and proceeded to let out a good HAR HAR.

I disagree, let Smith do all his touches and soft plays, that’s his game. He needs to keep doing it to figure out how to be successful at this level (and he finally is, he looks SO much better the last couple of games) - let Will Smith be Will Smith.
