Got it.
My point, if we kill the penalty, where’s the praise for the Marios and Jans?
I think the unit as a whole gets praise and Mario constantly gets praise for blocking shots no? Not gonna get much outta me on Rutta but if it’s any solace to you, I thought Walman was worse than both of them that period

I’ve been told Mario’s blocking is a direct criticism of his terrible defense so even a compliment tends to be backhanded.

Yeah fair enough, I think one thing Mario thrives at is the PK where he can be greasy and throw it down the ice without having to look for an outlet
I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve his fair share of criticism but at this point it feels like some here actively root for him to do something bad just so they can comment.

Only way they will comment.

Stop this. I get that not everyone likes the criticism of some players, but making sweeping, pithy, dismissive generalizations about posters is a) quite petty and b) against the rules.

You wouldn't like it if I said that some posters around here are blind cheerleaders that are too fragile to read anything bad about the team if it was strongly directly/indirectly implied to be about you. So I'd appreciate you not going after the posters you disagree with with crap like this.

People are allowed to criticize players if they wish. Even if others think the criticism is unwarranted, excessive, or incorrect. The acceptable responses are to either ignore it or address it on the merits of the content itself.

This goes for everyone. Yes, constant complaining about stuff can get annoying. But that includes constant complaining about complaining.
