I should have given in to the urge to sleep instead. :help:

I'd sit krejci for a game. Maybe it would wake him up.

Bergeron is not at the top of his game either, offensively. I think I saw him win one faceoff tonight, although i haven't looked at the stats. He's not exactly prone to a lot of mental mistakes so maybe it's still the injury from earlier in the year? His problems are more baffling to me than Krejci's.

Too many of the 'best' players aren't making an impact. Chara and Carlo on defense. Dominic Moore has probably been the 3rd/4th best forward on the team this season. That is very, very sad.
Bergeron looks like he was rushed back.

Pastrnak has 22.4% of this teams goals. Pastrnak has missed 6 games....

I don't even care about the defense tonight. The captain/top d-man was out, Killer is rusty, and Krug/McQuaid are what they are. The inability of the top 9 to score goals is to the point of being ridiculous. There are too many players contributing next to nothing, and a couple of the big guns have been worthless offensively. You've got problems when a fourth liner essentially is third on the team in goals with a quarter of the season gone.

He's been the 2nd best forward, it's not even close actually.

Problem is that isn't saying much. And even he isn't playing up to expectations.

He is on pace for his best productive season. How can he not produce up to expectation?

That list include:

Bergeron
Krejci
Krug
Spooner
Beleskey

I missed the game as I had to work but I had a hunch they would not do well in Ottawa. I loved it when ottawa came back into the league and for years we owned them. Did Rask give up any bad goals,Rebounds???

Nothing bad from Rask in my opinion, played a solid game, first goal was a breakaway, had one unlucky bounce for the 2-1 goal and the 3rd goal was a beautiful play by the sens.

Don't think you can find an opportunity to sit Rask anytime soon and expect a win.
Team can't even ****ing score to take the slightest amount of pressure off this god awful defense right now. And seeing a couple of our forwards making sloppy plays knowing that is a real **** off.

No way you sit Rask tomorrow. Unless you want to make a run for a top-5 pick, play Rask till the end of the year.

Take away a massive opening night, and his numbers don't look so hot now do they.

He's been good, maybe even very good. I expected Marchand to be great. He was great last year, this year thus far has been a step down.

Anyways Marchand is far from the problem here. I'm not terribly worried about him.

They've done what I thought they needed in that they've successfully treaded water until Thanksgiving.

Problem is I figured the forward group and the lines would of come together by now, and they haven't, not even close.

Claude needs to shake up his lines. 20 games in and it's clear his current template isn't working.

Shaking up the lines shouldn't be rocket science for Claude or any NHL coach.

The worst thing right now is that I see us picking 14th overall... again, like just right in the middle, not bad enough to pick a high upside center, not good enough to make the dance.

I'd love to see

Marchand Bergeron Backes
Beleskey DK Pasta

Need to shake it up. DK is at his best with a sniper on his wing. I have no clue what the hell is wrong with Bergy but it's been bad.

Someone mentioned in a recent PGT after a loss that at least unlike last year, we are taking positives after losses. Perhaps true before, but there was nothing positive to take from tonight.

I can't even complain about their lack of power plays, as they weren't doing anything to cause infractions. (It was actually a very safe, low-risk game for both sides.)

Some preventable mistakes occurred that led to goals, such as Krejci's blind pass to the middle of the ice. I wasn't crazy about Krug clearing the puck right to Ottawa's point, but I guess he was getting the puck out of harm's way (or at least trying to).

But it's the sputtering offense that is the most concerning. Marchand seems to be trying to be too slick at times; in the rare occasion someone gets the puck on their stick in the slot, they often pass up the shot; and sustained pressure is a rarity.

like to see backes with marshy and krejci with pasta next game

same. I want to see Marchand-Bergeron-Backes and Beleskey-Krejci-Pasta

pretty brutal game tonight. they can't seem to get anything going offensively and this defense certainly isn't going to win you any games. Sweeney needs to bolster this defense somehow. am i really still being forced to watch Hayes???

The Bruins problems:

Adam McQuaid 15g 0 0 0 -1
Jimmy Hayes 18g 0 0 0 -11
Colin Miller 15g 1 1 2 -6
JM Liles 20g 0 4 4 -3
Riley Nash 19g 1 3 4 2
Matt Beleskey 19 g 2 3 5 -6
Torey Krug 20 g 1 5 6 -9

Add on the sputtering offense from Bergeron and Spooner. Yikes.

Not a very good team right now.

So... at what point do you split up Krejci and Backes?

Marchand Bergeron Nash
Beleksey Krejci Pastrnak
Spooner Backes Czarnik
Schaller Moore Hayes

?

11 goals in the last 6 games.

One of those was a 4 goal game.

Thats 7 in 5.

If you cant score you cant win no matter how good Rask is.

Grind away boys grind away.

Arizona
Colorodo
Minnesota
Winnipeg
St Louis
Ottawa

Not world beaters here.

Like I said early in the year, Bergeron and Marchand had great years last year they betrer be better this year because Pasta cant do it all him self. Uh Oh.

Backes has not delievered to date either and will deteriorate fast for that contract, very slow player. Yes he battles in front of the net and may lay a big hit every 4 games and is a locker room guy but at least Eriksson scored 10 powerplay goals and was a better 200 foot player with Krech. Spooner ran a way better powerplay last year with Loui. Spooner is on the 3rd line with a checker and a rookie, who is not doing as much as we expected also. Very little icetime or powerplay time. I hardly seen Pasta the last half of the 3rd.

Kuraly needs to be back, he at least drives to the net. Krech needs either Spooner or Pasta on his slow low skilled line he is on now. Bergy needs to get going, he is slow to pucks and his weak shot does not help, something is wrong. Beleskey is what he is a 3rd line grinder, he will never be a scorer or good at stick handling. Krug has been decent lately after the injury but now pressure on him to skate it out will be greater. No one else can do it in this lineup and he will over compensate because he has too.

Should of been done already. It's not working.

But I'll be damned if Krejci deserves to get Pastrnak right now.

Marchand - Bergeron - Czarnik
Spooner - Backes - Pastrnak
Belesky - Krejci - Hayes/call-up Heinen/call-up Cehlarik
Schaller - Moore - Nash

Shaking my head at those blaming this loss on Miller and McQuaid. As usual, the offense is only able to muster up 1 goal. They're a much bigger problem right now than the defense.

Almost all teams have their D based on the penguins model...fast and skilled. With McQuaid you have neither. The coach continues to play the oddest of lines and this Hayes thing needs to stop ASAP.

I agree with you wintersej and BruinDust. Krejci and Backes need to be split, and Backes needs to be moved back to center where he has played his best games as a Bruin so far.
