I think a veteran HOF player like him probably has a lot of experience knowing what works and doesn't in terms of motivation... in addition to his natural intensity and charisma which has been well documented.

He's definitely a motivator style coach. But the downside is (I just see @le_sean's post) that he'll rather do a lot of things than bench veteran players.
