The effort level is down 50% from when this team was playing well.
They are back to their lack of attention to detail and lack of commitment on defense.
They're compete level is not close to where it has to be.

They just can't sustain it and they just can't deliver when the pressure notches up.

This is 100% on the players and not on the coaches.

The coaches message has not changed from when they were out there to win every shift to where they are now.

It's on the players for sure, but also the coaching.. we haven't seen any accountability.

Can anyone point to one time the coach held a player accountable?

I haven't seen ice time being taken away from any of the core players not playing good enough.

I remember Jacques Martin benching bonk for a period because he took a stupid penalty against Tampa after a whistle he skated to someone and knocked him over and he didn't see the ice in the third.

This was when he was our first line center. I hear stories from Andre Roy (who is in media) about how good Jacques was at benching or scratching anyone who took a bad penalty or didn't back check hard..doesn't matter of your skill level or depth chart rankings.

Now I'm not saying I want Jacques or he's some god...but that is an example of holding players accountable. Everyone who ever played for him knew you weren't going far unless you played a 200ft disciplined game.

All I heard from green is that he holds players accountable...but I have yet to see him use ice time to get players to play the right way.

Agreed. The coach can scream and yell all day long but ultimately the players have to motivate themselves to play hard and consistently so.

I look at the early games, and it looks like a totally different team. Maybe just excited for the new season but that enthusiasm and confidence is gone. Crisp, clean, and quick passing that looked like a team that had really grown familiar with each other now looks like a bunch of guys all playing a different game.

I don't know exactly what goes on in that locker room but the philosophy needs to change.

You're often defending this team when they're sucking though. Not sure why. Nothing good comes out of it. I'm sure it isn't fun trying to constantly defend a team that always falls short.

Just make fun of them. Call them garbage and other things. Try it. You know you wannaaaaaaaaa.
I've defended what they did well and criticized what they do poorly, they were playing very well prior to this losing streak, so when they've played poorly of late I've pointed to that as something we can hope they'll return to.

When they make garbage plays, I've pointed them out in the GDT, when they play well I praise them for it, (hopefully they'll give me more reason to do that soon)

Not sure what you mean by nothing good comes if it, do you think anything good comes from your complaints about the team?
