If that was Jeff Skinner, it's a goal.

Yup, that is the reason I want him back in the lineup. Not that play in particular, but plays like that. He can finish, and he has been solid defensively since January. The coach just hates him for some reason. If Skinner can't see the ice against a team as soft as Dallas is, then he never will. Dallas is a perfect team to play Skinner again really.

No. I’m just realistic. You think McDavid signs a contract without that being addressed ? I don’t.

Oiler management keep telling us goaltending isn’t a problem. KK keeps telling us goaltending isn’t a problem. The media keep telling us goaltending isn’t a problem. This team pays as much attention to the position as I do to basketballl standings.

McDavid signs here, I have no doubt either way.

But Hope your right.

Just knew the missed chances earlier on would come back to haunt us, and even after Dallas went up, Brown missed the net from close in and Frederic completely whiffs on a glorious chance in front. They need to throat stomp Dallas cuz Skinner. We are also the goal post champs of the playoffs it seems. Somewhere Buttman is cracking a smile.

They never quit but we are finding out just last night that Stu thinks he needs to work on fighting through traffic and his competitiveness so there's that little boat anchor weighing us down.
It’s annoying because many of us here pointed these flaws out early in the season. He kept getting beat on screens but never tries to look around traffic. Some other goalies look like a damn giraffe stretching their neck out to see.. literally every other NHL goalie I’ve watched this year is better at this.

Oh well. Just have to try again and limit the penalties because that’s what really got us. Stu is pretty ok at just being a big idiot and getting hit by pucks, but if he has to move we’re in trouble.

Even the GYB boys, Rishaug and Strudwick, who refused to pin much blame on Skinner all season got on him hard about lack of competitiveness on that Duchene goal in particular. That speaks volumes.

Did Rob Brown rush to Skinner’s aid? He is the number one apologist for Skinner besides Spector out there.

With Brown, I think he's still in that old player mindset that you never blame the goalie, so I don't worry much about his opinion on goalies.

But yeah it was surprising hearing both Rishaug and Strudwick be critical of Stu there. Was not expecting that. They've usually been okay of at least settling the old at some point a goalie needs to make a big save when still pointing to the mistakes leading to a goal, but they didn't even do that for this one. It was almost like they considered him the primary mistake (other than the penalty itself).

I answered Skinner. Much like last postseason and the postseason before that, Skinner is our biggest obstacle: not Bouchard, not Nurse, not "McDrai failing to show up" or any other excuse from the dumbest people to call themselves Oiler fans. Or trolls...

it doesn't make sense...if he wins a Cup as an Oiler goalie, who cares how it gets done?

When he loses us two games for every game he's won...he's not winning us a Cup.

Don't care if it's Arvidsson or Skinner, but one of them should be coming in for Frederic. Frederic accomplishes so little, and doesn't play special teams.
Flubs so many point blank chances too. Might be rust but man, if the dudes in the slot with no one around him, you can pre much expect the puck to be shot into the corner lol

Do you mind recapping what they said? Im shocked they were critical of Stu

It's been about 16 hours with a sleep in the middle of it so tough to be really accurate on it.

Keep in mind, they didn't completely roast him for it, but it was just noteworthy for me as it's fairly rare where they straight suggest he should have been better there.

If I remember correctly it was mostly that he wasn't competitive enough to get back into the battle to make a save echoing Stu's own comments from post-game.

I'm pretty sure it was one of the first 3 or 4 things they talked about so you wouldn't need to listen to the whole thing to hear it in detail. I don't really want to listen again though.
