Rangers would be well served turning this game into a board muckfest - just make it about board battles, corners, behind the net. Would be really smart against this team.
Some might see it as hubris. We need to tone that down.Thie bulk of this thread sounds like coach-speak. It's loaded with aphorisms.
I expect a loss tonight.
It's the natural progression of the back and forth in what will likely be a tight series. I mean Florida beat Boston on the road last night. This is what happens.
The Devils will come out flying trying to prove that the inexperience and tightness factor was a 1 game thing. It very well may have been.
The things that need to happen for the Rangers to come back to the Garden 2-0:
- Igor stands on his head and shuts them down himself
- The Rangers realize despite the lopsided win in Game 1, they didn't dominate the game in a lot of areas and actually play a stronger team game in all zones, showing some real killer instinct
- The Devils get too aggressive early on home ice and the Rangers capitalize on some high quality chances
- Special teams imbalance remains in the Rangers favor
We were 8-2 at MSG last playoffs. This is an exciting team that can score and MSG is finally a tough place to come and play again.
There was less energy during the "win 2-1" era but the energy is back now.
We have a chance to really put them in a hole. All the pressure is on them. Even if they win, they still have to come to our building tied.
I know we have a lot of fans in their barn as it is, but MSG when they're behind the team is a different animal.
I expect a loss tonight.

@Leonardo87 The national broadcast is on TBS, not TNT.
And those reruns sadly will outdraw the NHL playoff games.Fixed , I think TNT is just reruns of two and a half men. #winning lol
