The Devils need this game badly. Going down 2-0---losing your two home games for such a young team will have them second guessing themselves. I expect them to come out of the gate hard tonight. They looked like a frustrated group the other night and if we can continue to frustrate them tonight we'll have a psychological edge.

You know what, Mean Gene? I am just sick and tired of hearing about the Devils running off their mouths everywhere I go these days. Whether it's in the gym or when I greet my Rangermaniacs on the street. They tell me, "The Devils are saying they're gonna embarrass you, they're gonna make you pay, and you'll never come back. " Well, tonight, Mean Gene, the Devils will have to prove it on the ice at Thursday Night's Main Event at the Meadowlands. And when I wrap these 26 inch pythons around the Devils, brother, they are going to know the power of the Rangers, the power of eating your vitamins and saying your prayers. And I got all my Rangermaniacs behind me, ready to go for tonight. I know it is not going to be easy. It's going to be a fight to the end, but I know that all my Rangermaniacs believe in me. They will give me the power and the strength to beat these cocky Devils. And when I drop my leg on top of them for the pin and hear the count 1 - 2 - 3, they're gonna wish they never stepped into the path of the Rangers, brother. So Devils, what are you gonna do when Rangermania runs wild on you??!!!

Going back to MSG up 2-0 is a hell of a lot better than tied 1-1.

That is how important this game is. Experience needs to win out here. Take control of this one and absolutely dominate.

Don’t let Jack Hughes run around with impunity. He needs to be neutralized. Hit and punish him early and often.

The Devils understand what they did wrong in Game 1 and we will need to be that much better to not be complacent knowing we’re up one and heading back to MSG regardless of the outcome.

FOOT TO THE f***ING THROAT. NO MERCY.

LETS f***ING GO.

I expect a loss tonight.

It's the natural progression of the back and forth in what will likely be a tight series. I mean Florida beat Boston on the road last night. This is what happens.

The Devils will come out flying trying to prove that the inexperience and tightness factor was a 1 game thing. It very well may have been.

The things that need to happen for the Rangers to come back to the Garden 2-0:

- Igor stands on his head and shuts them down himself

- The Rangers realize despite the lopsided win in Game 1, they didn't dominate the game in a lot of areas and actually play a stronger team game in all zones, showing some real killer instinct

- The Devils get too aggressive early on home ice and the Rangers capitalize on some high quality chances

- Special teams imbalance remains in the Rangers favor

We were 8-2 at MSG last playoffs. This is an exciting team that can score and MSG is finally a tough place to come and play again.

There was less energy during the "win 2-1" era but the energy is back now.

We have a chance to really put them in a hole. All the pressure is on them. Even if they win, they still have to come to our building tied.

I know we have a lot of fans in their barn as it is, but MSG when they're behind the team is a different animal.

Yup. This sums up exactly how I see it as well.

I disagree with one point.

If the Devils win, the pressure switches to the Rangers.

It's important to remember that even if we lose, we are still in good shape for the series. We have home ice advantage until we lose a game at MSG. Coming out of the first two games at 1-1 is generally a pretty good outcome for the lower seed in a series.

If Kreider has actually hit a hot streak again with his deflections and hand-eye, that could be very, very good news for us.

It's fascinating to see how he has completely reinvented his game such that he's still able to be effective despite losing some of his speed. He's like a rich man's Anders Lee instead of a rich man's Jason Chimera.
