Well we survived the 1st but Im afraid we might be too gassed in the 2nd and 3rd periods. We really need some pressure and shots.

1st period - Pretty good D. Hard to tell about offense. It was nonexistent. Bob looked good although 3 posters helped him a tad.

Offensively, we'll probably see a lot of periods like that this year. Hopefully, we'll see that goaltending and luck, too.

Our defense and Bob have been good... excellent as far as Bob goes... That said the inexperience as far as some forwards go is evident... Anisimov and Dubinsky need to lead this team...

The wings have come to play tonight for sure.......Your club should get their legs in the 2nd and maybe they can get some offense going to take a little heat off BOB.

well if the idea was to withstand an expected all-out red wings frenzy to start the game as a make up for their home opener, gain some momentum from that and come in the 2nd with initiative... mission accomplished.

Umberger is now the highest paid player on this team at $5 million. I think it's time for him to do some leading if he's not going to score.

Dubinsky's comments to Pierre Mcguire were interesting... "This team isn't going to score a lot of goals."

oof

have to say i like the new team because among other things typical blue jacket foibles aren't making me so nervous anymore, like the last minute of a period or sustained defensive zone action... even the shootout in Nashville had a different feel

Well I must say it will be interesting how the team responds after a period like that. I think the thing I'm excited about this year is the fact that in these types of situations it feels like there might actually be a push back, hopefully I'm right!

The thing is, for years one CBJ player known to score masked the overall scoring debit of the CBJ.... now it's exposed... I think some of the young guys we do have with scoring ability will emerge in the next 10 games or so...

It's not, but I don't like hearing it from the players. Saying it amongst other fans is no big deal, but I guess it's different from the horse's mouth.

They arent kidding themselves. He also said that they arent trying to play those types of games. They want to play good d and forecheck hard to score a couple goals a game. Thats how I interpreted it anyways.
