Attendance was 7,872. Sabres fans embracing their tank.
Not just Buffalo, Montreal, Toronto and the Oil all failed to sell out on the biggest night of the week SATURDAY. Not sure if apathy or virus is the reason or maybe it is the cost of tickets. The Coyotes 2nd home game could rival all time records for no butts in seats.

This is what scares me. I hope BA has a plan to get us out of the bottom. Easy to get there, Buffalo been there for years
Friedman talked about there being a few teams really worried about attendance this year, more than normal worry. He mentioned Buffalo and Arizona for obvious reasons as both are in rebuild.

Some are still afraid of large gatherings. Some don't like the COVID safety requirements to attend games. Lots of people lost income in some way or another. Rent is skyrocketing, cost of goods is up...

Tough to overcome all that. Especially with where we're at as a team.

Edit: I haven't checked it out, anyone know if other NHL teams are down in attendance too? NFL? I'd imagine it's across the board?! It's still so early in the NHL season too.

The Sabres probably have data on how many fans cross the border to attend games. I'd be interested in that number.

It’s down all over. I wonder if it has to do with people not liking covid restrictions or if people just don’t want to shell out the cash right now or what. A little spooky.
Of course it's the restrictions. People are talking with their wallets.

The cure is going to be greater than the cause. Hang on to your shirts, it's going to get a hell of a lot worse.

Only mandatory vaccination will make it safe enough to fill the stands.
You mean for all citizens or all attendees?

I think most or all Canadian teams require vaccination to get in. There's lots of unsold tickets for the Jets' home opener, which is a big change from before.

25% is a big number. I think the travel restriction is scheduled to be lifted next month.
Nov 8th the US border opens to cars but there is a pcr test still required to come back into Canada so roughly $200 every time. I think that will eventually be lifted but who knows when??
