Arizona's own Auston Matthews won't be a bad consolation prize. It would be worth the agony. We know, we had to endure a lot of garbage to land a pick like Doughty.

Good luck never apples with the Coyotes; hence we failed to get McDavid or Eichel. Will finish worst in the NHL only to pick 4th while Edmonton wins the lottery again after just falling short of the playoffs.

Last year rookie, in the Calder Cup race until fate played him a cruel hand and he broke his leg the day his announcement to the All-Star Rookie Team was announced. Tanner Pearson, #70, finally returns to the team he loves and the line that rocked the world, That '70s Line.

Our most promising young player, Tyler Toffoli, #73 is a sniper to make any Kings fan proud. Last year Toff led the league in shorthanded goals. Never one to turn down a request to make a charity or community appearance for the Kings, Toffoli signed a reasonable bridge deal instead of cashing in big as an RFA, enabling the trade for Milan Lucic to happen.

If you're a sucker for an underdog story, look out for undersized Jordan Weal, newly #19. Weal was called up for the very last game last season. Flying across country, flying in his family to Los Angeles for his very first NHL game, Jordan got a good view of the game...from the pressbox. Many thought the 5'10" Weal would never see a regular season game in a Kings uniform. It was only his driven performance in the Calder Cup playoffs and his winning of the playoffs MVP award that center Weal was finally thought of as a serious contender for a roster spot. Look for the shorter player zipping around the ice, probably playing wing on (sigh) the 4th line.

Our ownership thinks the key to being a successful business to have the Coyotes operate the business in a Canadian friendly matter from having jerseys that are a Senators knock-off to serving Tim Hortons.


I have no problem with people from around the world coming to the games, but this gimmick isn't going to make things better.

I think they're an improvement over the Gretzky pajamas, but really it was extremely unambitious, and a huge missed opportunity to really rebrand the franchise and give it a unique identity.

I've never tried the legendary Tim Horton's before. I heard the Tim Bits were good, they sound like donut holes or something. I wish you guys would go back to that old Picasso coyote look, it was so unique. You gotta dump this red color scheme eventually, it's so boring. It's just like the Diamondbacks, really boring red.

maybe that's the wrong word? i just meant of guys drafted that year who still have not been offered a cup of coffee.

i think the draft order was forbort, toffolli and weal in the first 3 rounds for kings. 2 haven't played yet.

and forbort is the only first round pick from entire 2010 draft who still hasn't seen NHL ice time.
