Yeah, I'm only mildly surprised Torts didn't go back with Luongo. Scheduled start for Lack and Torts obviously wants to show confidence in him. He'll be fine.

Yup. Blew me away when I saw the standings  We've all been so impressed with how the Canucks have played up to this point and yet they are almost in 9th. Really hope that the teams in front of us slow down. I guess when there are more divisional games rather than just beating up on the east it will naturally cause more of a separation.

It's not really that bad. Canucks have played quite a bit of road games to start the year. Not to mention that after tomorrow they will have played 6 divisional road games and only 2 at home. We just need to take care of business at home against our division and we will be fine.

Blech. Didn't think we were that bad for the first 30 minutes of the game - scoring chances were pretty even, but they got some bounces and big saves, and we didn't.

Then Bieksa makes a lazy play to concede a goal, and the team just collapses after that.

Sloppy defensive play all night. Our defense didn't contend with their physical play well at all. Forwards - especially the Sedins - terrible on the backcheck.

- Luongo not good enough tonight. The other guy stood on his head at took back at least two sure goals, while we couldn't get a big save. Wasn't the reason we lost, but was out-dueled by a wide margin.

- Sedins generated some chances in the first 30 minutes and were unlucky not to get a goal, but their effort on the backcheck on two of the goals was just ghastly. Wonder if Daniel should have been playing.

- 2nd line also showed jump early before disappearing once it turned into a blowout. Burrows needs to finish his chances when he gets them.

- biggest disappointment tonight is Kassian. In a game where the other team was hitting everything in sight, you expect your big, physical players to step up. He was putrid. 0 SOG, 0 hits through 40 minutes. Managed a single hit on his last shift of the night. Totally invisible. I've been reasonably positive about his improvement, but games like this don't bode well for the playoffs.

- the effort was there for Archibald tonight but he was a day late and a dollar short. Thought the pace of the game was too much for him - still a ways away from being a regular although he's progressing well.

- Sestito sucks but at least tried to make a physical statement.

- Welsh looked decent in his minutes.

- Garrison and Edler were both poor tonight. Garrison has fallen off a cliff lately and again played less than Tanev. Edler is playing too many minutes.

- Bieksa was our best defender but that lazy mistake was just a killer.

- PP setup is just horrible. Hamhuis should not be on the #1 unit. Neither should Burrows. I like almost everything Tortorella has done but his handling of the PP has been a mess.

- Dustin Brown is a POS. Would have loved to see Bieksa feed him his lunch.

- Mark Lee ... the usual. Just horrible. Not really much more can be said.

Yea I agree.

Im fine with lack starting, let roberto know we need him rested and ready for thursday.

Lack does have to play sometimes and was likely scheduled to play, torts already said lack is penciled in for back to backs, which means its not permanent but tentatively scheduled to, he needs some play time and really looked sharp in relief, let him play tomorrow.

I don't know why people are criticizing Doughty. If he's out there constantly playing almost 30 minutes a game, he's obviously in shape, whether he looks it or not.

Gotta question Torts strategy here... going in he knew Sutter would role 4 lines, bang and crash etc. I agree with playing the hell out of the 3rd and 4th lines in the 3rd... BUT, he should have been rolling them from the get go against the Kings.

Other than that.... this game was tailor made for Kassian, and all he did all night was pull-up, breeze by and slow foot it to the bench. REALLY DISSAPOINTED in his game tonight and I think it speaks volumes to what his mindset may be for the type of player the Canucks THOUGHT they were trading for.

IF he is that player... then he plays like Archibald or Sestito or Burrows or Bieksa did tonight. I don't think he wants to be that player... and that's not a great sign.

I agree. I'm not worried about the Canucks in that sense. Just a little annoyed at how awful the east is compared to the west.

Up until the 3rd Kings goal I thought the Canucks had played well in general and were unlucky to be down. Kings jumped on our few mistakes early, Canucks couldn't bury their chances and then it all just fell apart. I know its a simplistic analysis but it just wasn't our night. Hopefully a motivated team comes out tomorrow

Lack to start tomorrow.

Eddie Lack will play Sunday in Anaheim.

The right call. Luongo wasn't a difference maker in this game. He needed to make a big save there on the 3rd or 4th goal to prevent this game from getting out of hand. I like this move to put Lack in.

For once I'd just like to see Kesler play well against this team. So tired of guys like Kopitar and Richards showing him up.

We fell down 1-0 early and the sedins kesler were actually generating alot of chances just not scoring and then 2-0 and he was rolling our top line to get us a goal and get back in it. Which they did. Then it simply just fell apart, nothing to do with coaching strategy just defensive breakdowns.

The 3rd line was not looking good, dalpe welsh were the ones who looked really good I thought, kassian was not having a good game, neither did richardson imo.

After it got out of hand in a hurry, he rested his top guys.

Discouraging effort

Looked like the Sedins and Kesler hit the wall in this one.

Some of the defensemen wilted under the heavy forecheck - Tanev especially

Luongo stopped being superman

Canucks had troubling finishing chances

Kassian was putrid. Has to be a huge question whether he has it mentally. Absolute no show on the physical front and pawing and reaching at the puck all game

Dalphe given enough time to to show himself and looked very underwhelming. Never once went into a check or play hard. Just sprays snow at his check. Guy who seems to like no touch hockey but hasn't got the skill to get away with it.

Bieska goes back into brain dead mode. His give away was horrible and critical in the game

Some of the things to like

General lay of Lack

Hustle of Archibald - probably a better player than Kassain

-good effort by the second line

-and that's about it

Brown and Doughty are both good hockey players in their own right. No one disputes that. They're probably nice guys off the ice too.

Too bad both of them are both pieces of **** people on the ice. Other than Marchand and Keith, I can't think of any other player I would enjoy more getting completely run over by the biggest goon in the NHL.
