The Quiet Corner
One of the many things about this team that really grinds my gears is their seemingly flat out refusal to shoot the puck. I've never seen a team so averse to just letting it rip. A shot opportunity doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be an opportunity. You never know what will happen. It might rebound towards a teammate who can shoot it home. Hell it might even get past the goaltender, who knows. Gretzky was right- you miss all the shots you don't take.

Unfortunately, there's a few BRUINS who would miss hitting a soccer net.

Home from yet another dreary game where the Bs found a way to lose to a injury ravaged Blues team that isn't very good even at full strength

Except for strong goaltending this would have been a regulation L. After a pretty good first period the Bs got dominated in the second and then played not to lose hockey in the third -with the predictable result.
That's mostly on coaching ...or lack of

You are 100% right. But don’t dare criticize him or people will start to talk about how snappy a dresser he is or how adorable his moustache is. I could give a rats ass. I want a player that gives 100 % every shift and he’s far from that .

Pasta hater, Pasta hater!

Gretzky also said "I never took a hit because no one was allowed to hit me."

They can't even generate those opportunities. They don't pass or skate well enough to get to those spots to even get a mildly dangerous scoring chance.

It's not even like some previous years where we can blame it on some bad luck or bad shooting % and believe that the averages will eventually go in their favor. This has been 1/5 of a season of absolutely dreadful offensive hockey.

This team surrenders buckets of goals, and their top six forwards are among the league’s worst.

Korpisalo is one of the few bright spots.

I don’t see them going on a hot streak, because the talent simply is not there.

Maybe you axe the coach and get a dead cat bounce.

Bruins brass severely underestimated how big of a loss veteran leadership is.

Shattenkirk. Forbort. JVR. JDB. Heinen. Throw Ullmark in there

Team chemistry matters. They lost a lot of good players and good people with personality and chemistry in the off-season.

This current team looks lost.
Excellent post, not to mention the fact that they hit on a lot of their lottery tickets last year.

When you aren’t successful in hitting on players in the draft, you have to shop in the clearance aisle, and hope you connect.

That’s a very dangerous game to play two years in a row.

100%

And whether people on here liked these players or not, it's clear the team liked them. They were very close. They all worked well together and it's a lot of players to lose in one off-season.

Sweeney and co didn't think about the mass exodus of players and it shows.

This team is lost.

I was always iffy on giving Pastrnak that contract as I never viewed him as the guy to hitch your wagon to but on the other hand the production was there so they couldn't really let him walk.

Pastrnak can't be the guy, he's just not that type, he needs the skillfull heart and soul guys to be surrounded by(Bergeron, younger Marchand) that can dig their heels in and get stuff done. No one on this roster fits that mold.

I'd be up for dealing anyone on this roster. I think the only one I'd keep is Swayman. I view him as a guy that can get it done in the playoffs, just needs a better team in front of him.

Yes, on the worst offensive team in the league the real problem is the only guy scoring with any sort of consistency.

There is nothing even remotely entertaining about this team. In an 8 day stretch they've had 2 games under 20 shots, and got absolutely destroyed in another game that was over with 20 mins. still left to play.

Embarrassing roster construction with an ideology that is mostly driven by trying to counter what the Panthers did to them the past two playoffs. And now those roster decisions are blowing up in their face.
Are the Bruins finally going that 2/3rds of NHL teams that are owners to to watch??
"Say it aint so Joe" !

I just understand why it's taking so long for a domino to fall. Whether Monty gets sacked, ownership finally kicks the two up top, or someone gets traded.

They must see how bad things are on the ice and the team needs some sort of change.

There's no one that can tell me that he doesn't look invisible for large stretches of games and that was before this season.

He'll be invisible 80% of the night rip off a good shot end the night with a goal and all is well. Sorry my glasses aren't rose colored as most around here. I love the guy but I've never viewed him as the guy that's gonna put the team on his back and carry them to the finish line

Two off-seasons ... a lot of talent leaving, little coming in.
