I don't want any sort of new coach bump. Bottom out the right way. No half measures.
Can he play forward? We have some pretty poor guys here acting like they can now.
I doubt any team in the NHL is willing to pick up Pasta's contract. They have scouts who watch BRUINS' games and they are aware of Pasta's too many invisible games. The only scenario in which the Senators would consider trading Brady is if he desires to leave; otherwise, I don't envision them making such a trade.
He's a bigger version of Stan Jonathan.I can understand that logic. No false hope and don't give Sweeney an excuse to prevaricate.
And sorry, obviously that first sentence should have said that the season seems to be "not salvageable".
I don't know about forward. But stick this guy in front of the net and nobody scores the other way!

Congratulations on beating the Leafs. Always a good feelingI chose yard work over wasting my time with this game. I feel like it was a far better choice and I hate cleaning up leaves.
That was good for a Laff.Congratulations on beating the Leafs. Always a good feeling
Yup, get rid of Sweeney first so a new set of eyes that aren’t clouded by the roster being “his guys” can start making hard choices about the players. Ideally get them in asap so they aren’t caught with their pants down at the draft.I don't want any sort of new coach bump. Bottom out the right way. No half measures.
Regarding the impotency of the BRUINS' offense, 'fortunate' is the perfect word.
He's a liability on most shifts. It's not if it's how many terrible turnovers will he have in a game.I doubt any team in the NHL is willing to pick up Pasta's contract. They have scouts who watch BRUINS' games and they are aware of Pasta's too many invisible games.
He's a bigger version of Stan Jonathan.
If Monty goes, the entire staff needs to go too. No more status quo. Sacco. Kelly, etc gotta go too.Firing Monty may not be the answer but: I'm willing to find out.
Sacco Magic?
Ummm, maybe but right now there's no magic.
Good point. I didn't want to overdo the 'one-trick pony' thing. He's a liability on most shifts. It's not if it's how many terrible turnovers will he have in a game.
There's not another star in the league that's as gross as he is with the puck, I cringe when he skates up ice with it.
They should keep the goalie coach. If Monty goes, the entire staff needs to go too. No more status quo. Sacco. Kelly, etc gotta go too.
And Sweeney? Not to be a party pooper......
But since Oct. 16, they've played 14 games and have scored just 27 goals. That's 1.93 goals per game.
Just to put that into context, only 6 teams in the entire salary cap era have ever averaged less than 2.10 goals per game. The last 4 teams all finished dead last by a mile.
2010-11 New Jersey Devils - 2.09 (23rd)
2011-12 Minnesota Wild - 2.02 (24th)
2013-14 Buffalo Sabres - 1.83 (30th)
2014-15 Buffalo Sabres - 1.87 (30th)
2016-17 Colorado Avalanche - 2.01 (30th) 22 wins.
2019-20 Detroit Red Wings - 2.00 (31st)
What we have witnessed the past month of Bruins hockey is historically bad offensive production.
I watch them and think they are honestly the worst team in the entire league off the rush while simultaneously being the worst team in the entire league at defending the rush.
There isn't a coach or trade on planet earth that can fix the offensive woes of this team. Then factor in contending teams pick this team apart defensively. It's done. This season is over. This team isn't fixable in-season. Sell off whatever UFAs and guys left on one-year deals that they can, and try to recoup assets/clear cap space and try to re-invent this team's offense next year while hiring a coach who can get them back to playing sound defense.
Firing Monty now might help them defensively, but with an historically bad offensive team like this group is, no coach is going to change that. The talent just isn't there.
Worst Bruins team I've seen since 2005-06 and we all know how that turned out. Even the Dave Lewis Bruins were in the hunt until the final month before the 18-wheeler went off a cliff. This team is basically done and it's not even Black Friday yet. It's historically bad. The numbers are right there you don't need some fancy advanced stat to prove it.
It's going to be interesting to see how Sweeney handles this.
Another disappointing loss. I have never seen a team go so bad after just one year. Have these guys forgot how to play??? Something is wrong and I hope Sweeney has the answer.
You are 100% right. But don’t dare criticize him or people will start to talk about how snappy a dresser he is or how adorable his moustache is. I could give a rats ass. I want a player that gives 100 % every shift and he’s far from that .He's a liability on most shifts. It's not if it's how many terrible turnovers will he have in a game.
There's not another star in the league that's as gross as he is with the puck, I cringe when he skates up ice with it.
Bullseye!!!!Bruins brass severely underestimated how big of a loss veteran leadership is.
Shattenkirk. Forbort. JVR. JDB. Heinen. Throw Ullmark in there
Team chemistry matters. They lost a lot of good players and good people with personality and chemistry in the off-season.
This current team looks lost.
Done. #1. Maybe Seattle.Start listing the worst top 6 forward groups in the league and stop when you get to Boston.
Btw, Aussie, what do you think the penalty for high knifing should be?I doubt any team in the NHL is willing to pick up Pasta's contract. They have scouts who watch BRUINS' games and they are aware of Pasta's too many invisible games.
