It does go beyond the coach to a degree. I think that his coaching structure is an absolute dumpster fire.

If that's the case, the issue is not who coaches the team.

I saw an interview recently where I think it was Tony Granato talking about team usa and he mentioned he had to be hard on McaVoy all the time to get anything out of him. He said some players like Mac you have to get on all game.

Won’t happen in a post cap world, but in the old days you’d see the B’s make a big trade with another team mired in mediocrity, star for star.
