I know Sharks fans aren't used to watching teenagers play for us, but it's embarrassing to see people complain every time Celebrini and Smith don't pick up points. I'm so serious, y'all don't deserve them.

Celebrini has such a hi hockey IQ, there arent many Sharks players that can pick up on it. Did you see the play near the beginning of the game where he drew two defenders near him and he dished the puck to the now open lane, the other sharjk on the shift couldnt pick up what he was laying down. It will take some time, but Cellebrini has Yzreman capability.......

Wouldve loved it for Smith to have buried that feed near the front of the net from Celebrini in the third, just to make BaileyMcTavish shut up and to validate Wario's decision to put the kids together even for those short moments. I like that Smith is shooting though. Think shoot first then think pass.

He has a tendency to throw the puck into space - in the third he entered the zone, pulled up and drew defenders in, then tossed the puck to the far side half boards - thankfully Eklund was on the wing at this stage and read it well.

Celebrini needs to have two offensively aware wingers, not 4th line grinders.

No, he setup an advanced creative offensive situation that fissled out because he had the likes of Ty Delandrea on his wing.
So he turned it over.

If Kunin or anyone else would have done the same thing, people would have ripped him apart.

That's the problem here. Tunnel vision leads people into only seeing things from certain players in a positive manner while seeing the same things from other players as a negative.

Just like with Will, it's ok to be critical of Macklin. It doesn't mean you "think they suck" or that they're "a bust". He's 18.

i thought smith had a lot of burst today. saw some improvement in how he got on top of pucks and stuff. still doesn't look that instinctual for when he needs to engage though. flubbed some plays on the board that could've used a strong backhand. but i really liked the little bits of chemistry with celebrini.

celebrini kinda plays too fast all the time. it's super fun to watch him be like a living tornado tearing through the ice but it seems like he's gonna be a superstar when he figures out how to slow down the game. like he has the offensive skill and deception where adding another gear to that dynamic pace change he has is gonna open up the ice a lot.

I remember the exact play you're talking about and in the moment I was thinking about how when he finds a linemate that thinks the game on the same wavelength that he does he'll truly explode.

It was a defender that pinched up on the LHS and he slid him the puck and then freed himself on the right side of the net for the give and go tap-in. I think it went down as a turnover for Macklin but it could have very easily have been a highlight reel goal with a better teammate there.

I wouldn't have. If Kunin did that, I'd be more mad that no one was able to pick that up

I'm not complaining he's not getting points, but I want him to shoot more. He is lethal when he shoots. He should showcase that.

This is more extreme than people being sad their hockey team/favorite young players aren't performing up to their unrealistic expectations
It's really not. If someone's going to only hyperfixate on the points instead of celebrating the good things they did that didn't result in points, then maybe they should take a couple years off from the Sharks until they're fully developed.

We're in the hardest part of the rebuild right now: being patient while waiting for potential to be realized. If you spend that time griping about a lack of points, that's how you end up resenting your young players.

Anyway, I really liked Celebrini and Smith together at evens and would like to see more of it.

If you weren't complaining about them not getting points, then my post wasn't aimed at you!

Kunin wouldn't do that other than by mistake. HUGE difference in creating a play like that and only having something like that happen by random chance.
