This team seems to be coached for low event games. Our offense has shown in previous years that they can score when they play a run-and-gun game, but can they do it when playing more responsibly? Off the cycle, I can see some occasional game-breaking move by Stutzle or Batherson leading to a goal, but what happened to Norris' one-timer? What happened to Brady crashing the net and scoring some garbage goal? And our timid defense isn't exactly bringing much offensively. Jensen is currently our most dangerous D offensively, and that's not a good thing. Chabot has his moments too. Don't know what's going on with Sanderson, it's like he's trying to play like the bad version of Chabot, indecisive in the offensive zone, not paying attention in the D zone.
Now low event and boring would be fine by me, but then the goalie needs to make f'ing stop from time to time. With proper goaltending by Shitmark, maybe we win some of these recent games 1-0 or 2-1.
Some positives:
- Maybe it's because I'm completely desensitized by now, but I didn't find this loss as frustrating as the previous two. At least we followed a known pattern of bad goaltending and inability to create offensive chances. I don't like it when they are creative in finding new ways to lose; and this time they weren't creative.
- Honestly, I thought Hamonic played well.
- I have a good feeling about Thursday.
