So, given that the other thread is closed, the Bettman trip was all about getting the City involved (probably financially in some form or fashion). Bettman was being a lawyer and being careful with his words, but it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why he was here when he talked about “participation” and mentioned a few times that if things didn’t work out, it would be fine to remain in Kanata. He also mentioned the province, although just brieify. He spoke at length about the benefits of having a downtown arena and the boost it would be to local businesses & tourism. It wasn’t hard to figure out the purpose of his visit.

He kind of batted down the question on the loss of a 1st round pick. He said he wasn’t inclined to change his mind or some such words equating to that message.
