I don't remember the Red Wings being upset when the linesman allowed the Datsyuk goal after he was offsides on the play in the last Kings/Wings game. :dunno:

I can see an argument for something against Penner, but the ref determined that it was incidental contact and nothing was gained from the contact.

The Cleary play that the team and coach complained about is just grasping at straws. I wonder if the coach changed his tune after seeing the replay on the clear shoulder check.

As long as the King keeping winning in regulation, they won't have to worry about any crazy tie breakers.

I'm not trying to harp on them too much, but Wings fans seem to be worse than most when it comes to complaining about penalties actually losing the game for them. They hardly ever credit the other team. It's very strange coming from a team that throws picks like its' going out of style. I mean, there were so many times last night where, instead of stationing a guy in front of the net during a breakout, Kronwall or another d would stand BESIDE the net with their back turned to sort of extend the net into a wall and hold up a forechecker. For the record, I thought the reffing was baffling; very long periods where they'd bury the whistle punctuated by short bursts of odd penalties.

I'm glad the telecast pointed out that Babcock was trying to calm his team down after Clearly lost his **** for no reason. Unfortunately, much like PHX in the playoffs, we scored while they were tightening their belts

Impressive state over the last 6 games:

Since giving up a late goal to Nick Foligno on February 15, the #LAKings have outscored their opponents 10-0 in the third period.

Third period lockdown is what good teams do to win. GKG

Also Kings are now 30-5-2 when Richards get a point

The one that gets me is that some Red Wings fans are convinced Kopi "cross checked" one of the Red Wings players - others think he tripped him - and that's why the player fell and he was able to get open.
:shakehead

I don't get upset with Wings fans at games anymore, just irritated.

Wings fans (1) are delusional about their team's chances this season, (2) have delusional feelings of entitlement, (3) have paranoid delusions that refs and linesman are against them, (4) have paranoid delusions that the NHL hates them, (5) are arrogant, and (6) are becoming increasingly ignorant of the game.

This last point (6) is perhaps the most disturbing. I hear more and more comments from Wings fans during games and reading on their team page here that indicate they are becoming as knowledgeable of the game as Sharks fans are now. And that is not a good thing. That is regression, not progression.

Hey Sharks fans aren't that bad. _ucks fans, on the other hand...

My favourite parts were about the people complaining about the hit on Cleary and the Datsyuk faceoff penalty. Also, the part where they complained about the announcers being the Kings' announcers. Oh, and the "I can't believe the Kings won the Cup last year".

Maybe if we win the cup again, they'll all have stroke and die. How's that for motivation?

First I am a Kings fan. Yes Kopi crosschecked the defender into another Wing player which caused the puck loose then over to King then King to a wide open Kopi. Hey that stuff happens alot in a game and when its not called its not a penalty. You have to be aggressive alot of that under the radar stuff leads to scoring chances.

The hit on Cleary was clean. The Datsyuk penalty not so much. See below new rule on Faceoffs. Datsyuk had both hands on his stick he never made a batting gesture to win the faceoff. He did pull back with his stick and it did hit his glove but no batting of glove. So by rule it should not have been a penalty.

"Both players facing-off are prohibited from batting the puck with their hand in an attempt to win the face-off. Any attempt by either center to win the face-off by batting the puck with their hand shall result in a minor penalty. This penalty shall be announced as a "Minor Penalty for Delay of Game - Face-off Violation." Once the face-off is deemed complete (and winner of the face-off is clear), hand passes shall be enforced as per Rule 79"

As dumb as the rule is I think that the Datsyuk call was correct. No where does it say that your hand has to be oof of the stick to bat the puck. I see your argument, but just think it could go either way and not definateive that it should not be called.

But are they told to enforce the rule in the same manner as a puck hitting the glove on a stick and going into the net. Then it would be a penalty. And I don't think anyone here knows exactly how they have been told to enforce the rule there.

Datsyuk won the faceoff with his hand - he tied Kopitar went low and put the puck away from the dot with his glove.

This Stoll rule is interesting tho. I don't think Stoll has been called on this rule yet, or has he?

Que the Nashville fans saying why YES :sarcasm: yes they have ...

.... Nashville got screwed ... Detroit got what they deserved, a penalty for the center touching the puck upon face-off while it's in play ON THE ICE. Case/

Thinking about that game, damn was that a satisfying win! To score those two goals late, wow. Character wins the last few games.

Can someone repost the picture saying " that Jeff Carter guy, he's so hot right now " lol.
