As I said this morning, there was no reason Tropp and Boll should have been in the lineup over a cleared Skille and Calvert... we wouldn't have won but we'd have been a lot more competitive.

The game itself...woof. First period was good and then we basically reverted to all of our lazy habits. Penalties, Sloppy Passing, Failed outlets, losing faceoffs, Prout went back to being terrible, unsurprisingly. Just all around embarrassing tonight.

the real kick in the nuts tonight was watching a young red wings fan turn in the winning 50/50 ticket. $7k. Ah well, maybe he'll buy a mansion or two in central Detroit.

In my opinion Jarmo should be on the hot seat right now. Resigned a none NHL goalie, let Mackenzie go, even Comeau had a presents on the 4th line.
Right now all the impact players were brought in by Howsand... Dubie , Foligno, Johanson, Artie and of course Bob. Don't know who got Jenner.

Lulz let's put a guy who's been GM for 21 months on the "hot seat" because of a losing streak during which there's been an unprecedented string of injuries. Ok.

I don't know if there's a team I hate losing too as much as the Wings.

Same here. hate losing to the armpit of America, guess the wings are all they have, but hate seeing there fans here, guess they hate their city too and the Columbuswings bandwagon fans (MOD)

What do you think will happen to this team if Bob gets injured again? Which could happen being this is the first quarter of the season.
Even when C-mac was resigned you could see that was a bad choice.
There are proven NHL!! goal tenders on the market and nothing

Howson drafted Jenner 2nd round. You're forgetting Hartnell though. He's been an impact player for us so far, acquired by Jarmo. True that's his one guy, but how is he expected to reshape the lineup when Howson left it so full? And to have instant draft pick impact? That's not realistic.

Thank you. I can't stand these boards after a loss. It gets beyond unbearable.

I am not an Howsand apologist, yes Hartsy was a great pick up by Jarmo. Im speaking of some the big holes I see in the team.
What do you mean by lineup left to full? Don't know what Mackenzie was asking to resign but he was a difference maker.
Reshaping to what? Im pointing out basic holes in the team like goal tending depth.

The "writing off" has legitimacy...the CBJ have been decimated by injuries. Adding "draft pieces," while unknown, I believe my theory stands. Strong draft, unfortunate year for a solid, YOUNG, team, might not be horrible.

Problem is, we've worked awful hard to purge the culture of losing. Let's not put ourselves in a position to hope a "savior" comes our way via the draft.

yeahbut, we're only 1 point better than Buffalo and our -20 goal differential is only better than Buffalo's -35. i would laugh if i wasn't crying.

me, too

Given the state of the team are you saying Howson left the cupboard bare? :sarcasm:

This team sucks. Injuries or not there is no excuse for losing every game the last 6 weeks.
Last season was a fluke.
I think Bob hid a lot of our weaknesses, and then once he was out you saw that they really werent as deep as they seemed. Right now, once we get fully healthy we're a team thats dangerous if you keep us in the game. Not a team thats going to storm out and take the win. Those types of teams are generally on the edge of making the playoffs, not the best way to try and win a cup.
