As frustrating as this season has been with the Voynov situation and the injuries to Regehr and then Martinez, the Kings are in a pretty good position in the standings. As long as they are in close contact with Vancouver, Calgary, and San Jose I am not worried, because 2nd or 3rd place is a very attainable goal.

We all know that for the Kings, it's just about making the playoffs, then the real season starts.

On top of everything else, San Jose seems determined to miss the playoffs this season.

They are now 5-8-1 since starting the season at 4-0-1. They lost to a very depleted CBJ team today who has been basically losing to everyone and everything.

Ducks fans ******** on our fanbase and crying about the game?!? Never saw that coming. ;)

Going back and looking at the pregame show, when did Doughty start dipping? The guy had a serious pinch of chaw under his gums, I kept waiting for him to spit during the interview.

So disappointed to miss the third period. A PP goal?! A Stoll goal??!! Haven't seen either in so long. Nice job, Kings.

McNabb looked way better. And damn I liked the Brown-Stoll-Lewis line that was together for a bit. Brown and Lewis looked good.

Yep - and I was surprised to see he had 23 minutes of ice time, almost the same as Muzzin. I think the defensive pairings were a lot more balanced today.

The Kings laid some seriously big hits in this game, especially Brown.

Anyone notice that Richards was a -2 and only 13 minutes of ice time? I think Toffoli will still gets his points, but Pearson has definitely cooled off.

Pretty dumb. I played baseball with a lot of guys that dipped since high school. A couple of them got some type of oral cancer. Terrible disease that was completely avoidable.

I have a lot of faith in the Kings' coaching staff. Give them a defenseman with tools and they will develop him into a player that is NHL-caliber.

Quick and some of the other guys dip too. It's disgusting. Someone (I think it was Gabby) posted a photo from their plane and cans of it were on a table in the photo. Wish they wouldn't, and I'm sure the health staff has mentioned it, but they probably just don't listen. It's sadly part of some hockey/sports culture.

Huge part of hockey culture. I started when playing junior.

I've gotten away from normal stuff where I was dipping way too much and to often down the little packs (like Snus) so I only go through a tin every month or two these days but still use them. I'll be down in Anaheim in two weeks so I am excited to get some of the good stuff, they don't sell it up here in Canada.

I'll say it again and I don't care what anyone thinks - chew is ****ing disgusting.

See quote below.

I think the ones that chew also think it's ****ing disgusting.

I'd honestly rather he smoked.

Not if you like how he plays hockey haha. Smoking hurts too much on the lungs/air capacity.

I do find smoking worse simply due to the smell. Smell of cigarettes makes me instantly nauseous.

I wonder if San Jose could be the Kings' Columbus this season?

Wonder what they would want for Pavelski. :naughty:

.....

The reigning Conn Smythe winner has a career 9.3 shooting percentage and has always been something of a volume shooter. That latter trend’s continued this season, with a team-high 51 shots on goal though 16 games (putting Williams on pace for 250-plus, the same amount he had during his two 30-goal campaigns in Carolina.)

The former trend, though, hasn’t carried over.

The 33-year-old winger has just two goals this season (a 3.9 shooting percentage) and just one in his last 12 games. His production has been flat across the board but especially down on the power play, where he has no goals and just one assist. Following Thursday’s 2-0 loss to Dallas, Williams acknowledged both he and the Kings’ entire man-advantage unit need to be better.

“Our power play has got to score some big goals for us at some point, if not goals then momentum,” he said, per LA Kings Insider. “I don’t know. We’ll get better.”
