Caught the end of the game, unlucky with the post and Doughty's pass through the slot, but even so

Brown and Dowd now lead the team in PP points with 3 each.

2-7-1 on the road. In 7 of the 10 games, they've scored 2 goals or less. It can't be all that surprising, they're playing without the full deck. 5-2 at home, but 4 of those wins came after regulation, and in 5 of the 7 games they've scored 2 or fewer goals in regulation. Again, they're not getting or don't have enough to score too much.

They have still not won a game in regulation where they have given up a goal.

Not good by any means. This is like the dark times of the 2000's. This team is better than this, no matter who's not playing. No excuse why Carter-Pearson-Toffoli aren't scoring more.

sutter's quotes from practice this morning summed it up pretty well for me. Basically if it's not one thing, it's another. Some days it's the goaltending. Others, it's the special teams. And so on. And sometimes, it's more than one thing going wrong.

I think all things considered they've played well lately, just under good enough to win by all those factors. Budaj needs to have that wraparound, and needs to be awake for the tip (though I blame the D for that one). That's all it took tonight since the puck luck took care of the rest. At some point, though, results matter again. Regroup at home and start getting some points to stay afloat till we can get healthy. But these are GREAT experiences for the rookies.

We saw that a lot during this roadtrip. Budaj let some bad goals in that cost the team points, especially vs the Sens.

Right now he's not exactly setting the AHL on fire, but the Kings are making a campaign for a Top 10 lottery pick right now.

I guess, but I'd rather see him in the lineup over Nolan (I'd be glad if he never played a game with the Kings ever again). Kempe or Mersch seem to be the most likely call ups at forward.

He's a 34 year old 3rd string goalie that had played in 1 NHL game since 2014 before this year. He really is what he is. That said, his stats haven't been that far off of what Quick's were last year. Which, I'm not sure if that's good or bad, depending on where you look.

Do the Kings win another game this month? Not sure I see a win in there.

Maybe that Islander game. Although we know Ladd will get a hat trick.

The next few games are actually pretty big. Got the Oilers and Ducks, two teams ahead in the division by a couple points. The Devils have been pretty decent, but you got them at home. The Islanders are struggling. Isn't Thanksgiving the time when if you're in a playoff position, or at least very close, you usually end up making it? Big 4 games. Things could get away quickly if they don't do something.

Well, if they don't give up bad goals, the pp starts scoring, they score more than 2 goals a game, 70-77-73 can finds some consistency, Doughty remembers how to hit the net with his shot that creates chances [ala Karlsson,Burns,Keith] and guys finish around the net, then yes they will win at least one.

Something like if you aren't within 4 points of a playoff spot at Thanksgiving, only 4-6 teams have made the playoffs in the cap era. Can't remember the exact numbers but it was something really low.

Forbort played another 19 minutes, and was solid again, not on the ice for a minus.

Bright spot out of this whole mess, Derek Forbort.

Gravel needs to put on some muscle, he gets pushed off the puck very easy.

Brown/Dowd continue to put points up.

I thin we all know the issue here. 1-3-1 with Gary Thorne calling the games...

In all seriousness this team is streaky as hell. I'll give it to Brown and Dowd as they have been the 2 bright spots this season, but outside of them no one has really performed that well. Budaj has played well at times, but he is what he is and we know he can't keep up his play long term. His play today is evidence of that.

They'll beat one of the good teams probably just to remind us of what they're capable of. At this point, I'm just wondering when Drew is gonna get hurt so we can have the whole core out at the same time.
