Yeah. Agree with Campbell there, in case y'all didn't know .. :)

I think you can talk about going net front all you want if you assamble a forward group that just isn't physically able to do so on a consistant basis.

We've been talking about the team having to go net front more since season one and it's now season four.
Francis only bringing in guys that aren't comfortable doing that(with the exception of Kartye who's not doing it enough) just doesn't really help with that either.

If this team wants to consistantly go net front there need to be changes in personnel and not just saying so.

I'm not sure we beat the Rangers this weekend
I don’t know how great their odds are against the Islanders, either. They beat Vancouver 5-2 last night, tied Edmonton and NJD, and beat Ottawa and PIT in their last 5 games. Solid wins against solid teams.

Agree that there are players that are not comfortable doing it. But they don't have to be. If this is a job they are asked to do, then they should do it.

The first line has no front net presence at all. But I think McCann has the skill with Beniers getting better to make that work on the line without it.

Any other line is starved for talent and going in front of the net can let you do that irrespective of the talent. The 4th line does it. Like you pointed out Kartye does it but I have seen both Gourde and Tanev also doing it from time to time.

The 2nd and 3rd lines are the biggest issues. Shane's line has not been productive offensively. But he is a body who is big enough to go in front of the net. I normally see him behind the net and he is putting passes down the middle so that someone in front of the net who can pick it up. But there is no one there. Tolvy is waiting for his point shot and Burakovsky does whatever he does. I feel that those two players just dont fit the type of players who could work with Wright. I see Wright more as a goal scorer than a play maker and feel like he is not being utilized correctly.

A lot of the same stuff going on with the 2nd line. I don't think we will be an offensive juggernaut with the talent on our team, but those changes are more to do with heart/effort/toughness/whatever. You cant produce if you don't have talent and are refusing to to execute on those things.

Great takes, fellas. Going to the net and making every shot your team takes a difficult save for the opposing goalie wins far more games than “durdling” (thanks, Fuhrious!) will ever do. It’s the reason talent alone on the PP hasn’t worked for the Penguins.
The Kraken aren’t exceptionally talented, so they HAVE TO create traffic that puts defenders and goalies on their heels.
