That was when they played as a team that they did so well against the Stars. Their results against Dallas could be disastrous on Thursday.

I do not expect much.

I'm having a real hard time getting excited for games this season. Team is sloppy, taking a ton of penalties, and the young guys (Poitras, Lorhei) haven't taken the steps forward we'd hoped, especially Lorhei after he looked amazing in the playoffs.

Watching the on ice product, I have no idea how we're third in the division. Hopefully that sticks and they can play their way out of this funk.

Not expecting much.

Coach is struggling to figure out his team and the team is struggling to figure out how to play a full game.

These guys are having fun, zero accountabilty why not.

Would there be any benefit to them going around being super serious and miserable? Lots of sports psychology and historical precedent says no. Like all things it's a balance, need times to be serious and laser-focused, times for harsh truths and blunt speech, times too to relax a bit and have some fun. No team will succeed that isn't enjoying itself.

This roster does have an accountability problem, and an intensity problem, and a consistency problem. And more besides, I'm sure. But I'm not going to judge them or think they're not trying to address those things simply because they've got some smiles on their faces or are messing around for part of a practice. That's too narrow a view, IMO. Their balance and their whole approach might well be wrong. But this alone doesn't tell me that.
