The NFL made 'offsides' popular a long time ago

..and I can't count how many times I yelled at the TV saying "offsides means more than one offside, so get it right refs"

But that is how they call offside in the NFL

Don't mind Potsy getting hit when it creates a play up the neutral zone. Our other forwards were chipping it to nowhere. Sends the wrong message imo.

Yeah to me they don’t learn if they don’t play in those situations, but coaches job is to win games and they’ll pucker and play what they believe is safer players. I don’t agree but also my job isn’t always being evaluated

Didn't get to watch the game closely because I'm driving a locomotive but didn't look particularly great. Best I've seen Tampa in a while to be honest. They were hustling and working Harder.

Despite being hemmed in in the 3rd period, somehow scoring 3 goals is a miracle in itself.

The BRUINS are a marked team because of their record last season and their record so far this season. Every team they play will be extra motivated.

No it isn't all good. They go into the playoffs this soft they get bounced in the first round again. When are people going to learn that playing like the NHL is a no contact league may work in November but it never works in April or May.

i didn't look at any stats but seemed like lauko, steen and poitras all had reduced roles
in the game. of course, if they could get the puck out of the zone versus trying to find
openings for empty nets, the game would've been over.

Can't leave the defensive zone before the puck in that situation. Absolutely horrible.

That said, what a play by Hedman to keep it in. Then he makes the play to break Hagel in alone in OT.

This is very true. TB played like it was a SC Final, the Bruins couldn't match their intensity or the brutal refs that Cooper had in his back pocket.

Agreed. You can't allow your players to be battered all season and then when it really ramps up in the playoffs they get finished off. Last year by February most teams mailed it in. So they faced little adversity. We really need a brute on the blueline and a #1 center by TDL but if they don't get the #1 center until next summer I get it.

Tampa came out hot just as I thought they would and Swayman held us in it. It went back and fourth after that with an edge to Tampa. A few of them struggled, but not notably Monty. He got schooled on last change almost every time and they made quite a few bad changes. He also does not know how to slow down the game. Too bad because he has the defensemen to do it for the most part.
