typical Pittsburgh refs

Trouba horrendous. absolutely can't play him against top lines.

did Quick and Igor switch bodies?

Here you go:

When a goalkeeper has lost his helmet and/or face mask and his team has control of the puck, play shall be stopped immediately to allow the goalkeeper the opportunity to regain his helmet and/or face mask. When the opposing team has control of the puck, play shall only be stopped if there is no immediate and impending scoring opportunity.
No rules apply in nyr games

It doesn’t. Just like it doesn’t say the play should be blown dead if a player shits their pants on the ice.

It’s clearly implied though. Masks are more important than gloves so I’m not sure why you think a whistle should be blown for a lost glove but not for a lost mask.
First off, I never said, or implied for that matter, that play should not be stopped for the loss of mask. What I am implying is that play should be stopped if Goalie loses any equipment! The fact that the NHL does nothing to address Goaltender safety just goes to show what a bush league this Truly is.

I have no issue with no whistle for a rule that doesn't exist.
That said, most of the rules exist partially or fully to protect players. If a skater has to get off the ice when he loses his helmet, I don't see how you can have a goalie play without a helmet or bare hand. I know head and hand aren't the same, but there's no pro goalie who won't instinctually throw their hand in front of 100mph puck.

Quick made some great saves but we had some puck luck... there were massive rebounds and open nets in the 1st 5 minutes

No, that’s not what happened. You didn’t think there is such a rule and called me out on it, I posted the rule, then you moved the goalposts to refer to anything except masks, and now you’re saying that you never even argued it in the first place. It’s ok to be wrong.

It can only be a judgment call. If that was a rule you'd have goalies intentionally losing equipment all the time.

Just an unfortunate thing with Quick's glove. Ref ruled that Pitt guy was pushed into Quick. And no rule to blow whistle just because of no glove. If there was, some dopey goalie will intentionally lose his glove in a scrum in front. I've seen a few goalies throw their helmet off to get a whistle
