Can you show that rule for everybody to see?
Here you go:

When a goalkeeper has lost his helmet and/or face mask and his team has control of the puck, play shall be stopped immediately to allow the goalkeeper the opportunity to regain his helmet and/or face mask. When the opposing team has control of the puck, play shall only be stopped if there is no immediate and impending scoring opportunity.

Two soft penalties and those mouth-breathing knuckle draggers in PPG Arena won’t stop booooing every other call.

Idiots.

Where does it pertain to other equipment? Because not only did they have a scoring chance they scored on the play.

It doesn’t. Just like it doesn’t say the play should be blown dead if a player shits their pants on the ice.

It’s clearly implied though. Masks are more important than gloves so I’m not sure why you think a whistle should be blown for a lost glove but not for a lost mask.
