That's funny, it seemed to me your concern was about pts being wasted in winnable games if the level of play doesn't keep up. Pts are awarded based on the final score from all situations not just ES, so I figured that would matter most to you.

If 5v5 is actually your concern and not pts slipping away as your op mentioned, I could go dig out the research on why, particularly in smaller samples, xGF is more predictive of future results at 5v5 than goals are, but we both know that already, and we both know that's not what you're after.
You think it's not possible to make two separate points in 2 separate posts? Cool bro. Thanks for the chat!

What a game by Norris by the way. He was back to his peak level tonight, hopefully he can keep going, it makes us a much better team. Same with Chabot, back to be Elite.

Ottawa has looked like an elite team lately. Ullmark lost the game by himself and he knows it

I don't find they panicked at all, they dominated the whole game and barely gave any scoring chances. Ullmark should have had at least 3 of these goals

1st goal against wasn't great too. And even the 4th one, not well positioned, gave up a really bad rebound in the slot. Frankly, it was a really bad performance and he knows it.

That being said, the team is playing almost flawless hockey, they were dominant, controlled the whole game. At least they got a point tonight, unlike Vegas and Colorado games where they deserved at least a point...

But in the end, it really hurts, they are a much better team than 8-7-1
The Sanderson faux-pas allowing a breakaway by Knoecne was a factor on one of the GA.

This game might have bigger ramifications than some thought. Playing really good and not getting the reuslts for an extended period of time is when teams start panicking. It also showed that no matter how hard they played the goalie was just going to undo it all.
