Linus is still a top goalie though, right now he's inconsistent but Ullmark is still a top goaltender
Top goalies have full seasons where they are terrible in this modern NHL

.737 is never going to cut it no matter whatHe played poorly tonight, no doubt.
Two odd-man rushes against for the 3rd and 4th goal though. Can't have those breakdowns back to back late in the 3rd with a lead.
Obviously want a save. Still put themselves in really bad situations there though.
Touché, I guess add in losing to the requirements. Not just the shot total that is crazy, but that 3 of 4 goals were stoppable. Two goals a Junior B goalie should stop.
Well Linus is our goaltender boys so he better figure things out quick, he's our man that's it
Anderson was really underappreciated while he was here.Is he? Consistency is kind of a part of being a top goalie. You think Craig Anderson would give his team a game like that?
It's f***ing insane that people expect a team not to have any breakdowns at all. Bobrovsky and Skinner made so many important saves off of defensive breakdowns in the playoffs last year..737 is never going to cut it no matter what
And Chychrun was a stud top 4 dman before he came to Ottawa.Yes his is lol.
According to his save percentage and win percentage he is a below average backup.Linus is still a top goalie though, right now he's inconsistent but Ullmark is still a top goaltender
Do they dare switch the pairings to get him going? Chabot-Zub and Sandy-JennyChabot-Jensen is the top pair, they are doing all the heavy lifting on the backend.
Sanderson is our best player, but he’s been extremely poor for the past 10.
He needs to get his head back in the game.
Yet to see it, yes, but his track record is way more impressive than Chycrun's was.And Chychrun was a stud top 4 dman before he came to Ottawa.
It doesn't mean anything until you do it in a Sens jersey. So far Ullmark hasn't done a thing to show he's a top goalie, still waiting on this guy to arrive. Good at times sure. But top goalie? Yet to see that.
This season, sure. His entire body of work suggests otherwise though. Dude needs to wake up though for sure.According to his save percentage and win percentage he is a below average backup.
Tonight two of them just went through him, including the game winner. No rebounds needed.Ullmark has MAJOR rebound control issues...that's not just tonight. It's been like that all season. Goalies can have a off night but that last goal was so FUGLY
Yes we allowed a 2-on-1 at a terrible time. Big deal, we allowed basically nothing for the 50 minutes before that. Is that not enough for the goalie? Does he want the impossible accomplishment of having a team having 0 breakdowns all game? That team doesn't exist so good luck.
I don't remember Anderson having any games like that. He'd give up a bad goal here and there like any goalie, but actively blowing a game that the team dominated? I can't recall him ever doing that.I think we can all agree everyone including fan favorites like Anderson had ~0.700 save percentages games where they suck really badly.
But we lost a point tonight because of Ullmark and we're paying him $8 million. And so far there's not a game where I've felt he's gotten us a point we did not deserve. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
It's still early days but I'm going to bitch and moan tonight and when he steals us a point or two I'll lay off the criticism.
I think these types of games are deflating. They bust their asses only to have one of the highest paid guys on the team lose it for them multiple times already. I'm expecting a weaker performance next game.On a positive note, we played really, really well again. Team is coming together.
It's the two odd man rushes in short order.
Linus played a terrible game, that's a given. I'm not arguing that. They needed one more save from him.
The teams game management and execution at critical times is still an issue. Something that hopefully crops up less and less as they become more consistent. For now, it's still something that happens too often.
Could have easily potted a few goals earlier in the game and not put themselves in the position of having a slim lead over a team that has been clutch in 3rd periods lately.
