Nice, but they didn't go into the physics of skating at all which is what I was expecting and would also be interesting. Went more into the anatomy and types of skating.
Agree, a bit too basic but suspect it's for a young audience. It's actually integrated sponsor content with the team's 'official' medical partners and team alumni which is good marketing. There's two others on body checking with the beast Kasparaitus and slap shot - kinda weird to start with these two dinosaur functions over skating. haha.

Still. Good high level primer to view the world's fastest collision sport in a different way. Incredible athletes.

I have a different appreciation of Bailey after watching it. Some sweet goals there with his skating. heh.

But back to skating would be interesting to see backward skating analyzed from a physics pov. Or speed skating technique etc.

Back to Bailey strange how a guy like that with some filthy skill in tight never scored 20 goals. Guy was a wizard one on one with a goalie but no shot apparently. Not a guy you want to leave open though.

Kings look to be in a lot of trouble. Without Doughty for the year having to lean on some younger D too much although Clarke looks excellent. Yesterday they couldn't generate shit against the AV's. Only had one line going and not getting much of anything. Weird game. Both clubs were looking like one line clubs. A sleeper. Was changing channels a lot. Under the preent coach the Kings are really back to being boring.
Mackinnon and Rantenen are sure feeling it though.

Edmonton-Montreal game being on prime is a f***ing national disgrace. Two Canadian teams and neither Snet or TSN has rights to it. Noticed this bs soon as schedule was announced. Not only are Prime getting a lot of games they are getting the marquee games.

Canadian viewers probably deserve better than a constant diet of local blackouts and having the NHL pie split into so many subscriber pieces. Where does it end? It doesn't. Going back to smaller slices of the pie being available.

Its interesting that firms like Amazon Prime want to increase membership through means like this. For me its just more reason to boycott anything to do with Amazon.

The worst part for me is that I have Prime already, but because I'm in the US I can't access the game.

I don't get it. I thought the whole point of the Prime games was getting more US viewers? Why can't you get the game? Regional? I wouldn't complain about this so much except the classic Oilers-Habs games. Only two of the Canadian matchup all season and heralded games and only get to see one. Sucks.

Im pretty sure Hockey on Prime is Amazon Canada only across the board. Not sure why. Perhaps they felt that there wasn't enough viewership down south to justify paying more for a larger deal with the NHL? <shrug>

Yeah. From the NHL standpoint or viewer standpoint or Snet or TSN I don't get what this deal is for. The Canadian rightsholders and subscribers all paying, but now getting less. What are we growing by putting Canadian games between two Canadian clubs on a tertiary pay only streaming service? How did Snet and TSN how paid for the Canadian rights even want this?

I have Prime, so for me it's not an issue, but I can certainly understand your point of view and you bring up some very valid points. Unfortunately, it looks like this is the future of sports broadcasting as sports leagues are figuring out they can split up their schedules to various platforms and maximize their TV/Broadcast contracts. Might get pretty pricey to watch a team's full schedule in the near future.

The purpose of the deal was to reduce the impact to Rogers of the deal they made. It's also really a trial balloon for the next TV/Streaming deal. I am sure thay want as many Canadians as possible to buy in.

Prime is Canada only. SN sold their Monday rights to Amazon last year. American viewers can probably get the game on ESPN+
