Agree this is something I was hoping would change this year as he keeps developing
It's not going to change IMO, his skating is too poor and half the time, just like this past instance he loses control of the puck without being touched. He doesn't seem to have a lot of deception either so defenseman just eat him up.

Frustrating that Gallant had to completely disrupt the lines that did so well the other night. One guy gets sick and the entire lineup needed to get a reshuffle? And why Halak tonight? Shouldn't Shesterkin play against the better team and Halak play against the worse team? Gallant makes no sense.
First and third lines didn’t change. 2nd line needed their sick guy replaced. Should he have put Reaves on Trocheck right? Come one let’s stop making up issues.

A 60 min effort does not mean a team dominates for 60 mins, it means they are engaged and playing quality hockey. It's not asking a lot. We have had one game like that this year and that was opening night...
Any time a team is being outplayed, the fans are going to claim the effort isn't 100%

I mean,we are dominating the game and somehow losing.Hell, our own players are making saves on us- looking at you Vinnie

Lafreniere gets the puck entering the zone and always gets sealed off or has to throw the puck away. He can't make a damn play.
I think he needs a sports psych. He's like a young kreider that forgets his abilities the moment he loses confidence instead of sticking with it. Last year in the playoffs he was carrying the puck over the blue line and going through and around defenders. Now he looks like Dryden Hunt.

Somehow laf is looking worse than last season.
He's actually following Kakko's progression, he needed to get quicker this offseason much like Kakko needed to the season before...neither did it, but Kakko came this year quicker, hopefully Laf does the same. To be fair with Laf he has made a lot of nice defensive reads tonight
