NJD are in town, and they're actually good this year. They're leading the Metro division by 4 pts over Carolina and even have a game in hand on Carolina.

Specialty Teams are average. PP is 19th OA.
PK is 14th OA.

So they're doing it 5 on 5.

They lead the league in shot prevention (only 24 shots against per game), and are 2nd in shots taken (average of 37.1 per game). On average they outshoot teams 37-24.

7th in G/F. 5th in G/A.

I expect a loss here, but it could be a high scoring game, as NJ's goaltending can be really inconsistent.

Slafkovsky should be back for this one.

Devils Notes

-3/4 of the Devils lines are running while the 3rd line is a work in progress. It was good at the start of the year but Palat going down forced line up changes that killed that line.

-The Goalie Vanecek who has been key to the win streak is back after missing a game and one period.

-Forth line is dangerous, Wood is speedy and can make stuff happen on his own and is definitely a grinder, Bastian is a big bodied guy who gets pucks while Mcleod is good at faceoffs and is very speedy. Wood is probably going to price himself out being with the Devils next year as someone is going to give him a David Clarkson type contract.

-Tatar after having a very slow start has been doing pretty good recently.

-Look for Brendan Smith to take at least two penalties in the game and probably be a reason for the Devils conceding a goal. Severson also can do brain dead things which causes the Devils to get scored on.

-Devils forwards have been more willing to block shots recently and are willing to play ugly by diving towards pucks in order to sweep the puck out of their zone. So if you see Devils players on the ground a lot well that's the reason.

-After chanting "fire Lindy" at the start of the season the Devils fans chanted "Sorry Lindy" last game.

-The recent wins have been getting uglier so it could be a sign that the Win train is slowing and coming to a stop.
------------
Hope this slightly more in depth Devils info is helpful to some Habs fans.:thumbu:

If anyone has any other questions about the Devils I will be willing to answer them. It will be fun to see Slafkovsky playing against the Devils as it will be easier to evaluate how far he's come when I know both teams pretty well.

This is going to be a tough one......a very tough one.
If we manage to go to overtime, I'm happy but as usual, all I really care is to have a good game and see kids getting points!

But I think our winning streak ends here
Whom do all of y'all think will play in goal for y'all? Montembault? Then allen thursday no?

I expect Allen. MSL definitely views him as our #1.

I think Montembeault goes against CBJ Thursday night. Then Allen back in on Saturday.

Don't want Monty sitting too long, and no need to over play Allen.
Thats probably how they play it yeah. Thanks for thr answer and intake. Y'all really know your team wich is the key and Diamond route at hfboards. Makes life so much even better

The game will be boring as hell and Marty will get yet another shutout vs the Habs. He might even score a EN goal. :sarcasm:

Yes I'm still having awful flashbacks and nightmares about playing the boring and very defensive minded Devils from the Marty Brodeur era when they would play the Habs. :)

I hated the Devil's back then. Took Canadiens philosophy. Jacques Lemaire then Larry Robinson coaching.
