REMINDER: THERE IS TO BE NO TANK TALK IN GDT.

The GDT is a place to discuss the game, piss on the refs, cheer for our team & make fun of Buffalo. It is NOT to cheer losses. If you wish to do that, there is now a tank thread for that.

Warnings or thread bans may occur if you use this thread to cheer for a Canadiens loss.

Go Habs!!

Some new line combos this morning at practice

These lines are not ideal long term but I like the change bc Caufield can score with anyone. He doesn't need to be attached to Suzuki's hip. And Suzuki and Slaf worked really well as a combo, controlling the puck. By not having to cover for CC's lack of size and not deferring to him, its harder to be predictable. Adding Dach to that line could have potential as well. I think this shake up is a good way to try something new and get guys out of the fog.

A day game in Buffalo

I don't know why MSL thinks that putting our best goal scorer with a defense first center will help the team but I didn't coach peewee so what do I know.
The move to make all along was to just flip centers like I suggested three fricking games ago.
Caufield with Evans and Dach makes more sense.
I think Newhook with Slaf and Suzuki would make those two guys play faster.
The first thing this team has to do is start f***ing skating enough is enough.

Sure glad they hung onto Barron instead of sending him to Winnipeg.......
Not sure about Hughes wanting to hang on to him as much as Hughes unable to get anything decent for him.

Hughes probably tried the brothers reunification pitch but Chevaldayoff is usually a savvy horse trader. 💀

Dach should be on a sheltered 3rd line with softer matchups. Dude is drowning out there.
I like him on the wing where he has less responsibilities while he’s trying to regain his pre-injury form and yes, get him off the top 6 to make it even easier on him.

We’ve seen this scenario many a time — players coming off major surgeries and missing out on most of the prior season, are just incapable of picking it up where they left off. Re-evaluate mid-season.
