Who are your top five candidates to replace Sunny Jim?
Sacco was named associate coach when they decided not to extend Monty

He was very good response wise when coached 8 games in 22 when Cassidy out with complications from Covid

Who are your top five candidates to replace Sunny Jim?
1) Mike Sullivan if he's let go of by Pitt.
2) Gary Gallant. Not a SC winning coach but
he's a new voice with experience.
3) Claude Julien, we need to re-install a
proper defensive system.
I don't know who else is available but
if no other EXPERIENCED, SC winning coach,
I do what they did with Cassidy IIRC and
make someone an interim coach to see how
the rest of the year plays out under Coach Interim.

From practice today, seems like:

Poitras getting scratched
Geekie on a line with Zacha and Pastrnak
H. Lindholm replacing McAvoy on the 1st PP unit

I'm definitely on board with Hampus quarterbacking the PP. :thumbu:

Poitras is probably banged up. He's got to learn to keep his head up and moving at all times. :hit:

Geekie got off to a terrible start, maybe watching a few games has helped him. :dunno:

I for the most part like it, I think Geekie should be back in the lineup, however I think I would like to have given Freddy a shot up there, but lets see how it plays out. I said last week Hampus should get a shot on the PP, one thing about Hampus going back a couple of years when McAvoy, was hurt he stepped up big time and played his best hockey, let's just hope.
I am now going into you are an "asshole" area but I don't care. I think it is about time Poitras takes a trip to providence, and Jones back up here, if you want to give Jones a couple of more games down there, I am good with that, everyone else got passes , oh he missed camp, he had surgery, this one will get going, Jones has just been shit on, give the kid a break and get him back up here if he is healthy and ready.

In my opinion, the reasoning here from Montgomery is off.
I think that's actually kinda on point. Potsy has effort in spades but the kid straight up looked lost at times. As to be expected from a 19 year old with like 50 games of experience.

Give him some time at the AHL level on a team that actually functions and keep him down there so he can actually learn.

Let's face it they just do not have the horses, maybe 3 out of top 6 can qualify as legit. Pasta, Lindholm who has not really shown much and Marchand who is advancing in years.
The other 3, Zacha , Geekie and Brazeau do not really have the stats to be in the top 6. We change lines every game because we think something magically is going to happen and the team is going to be somehow become a well oiled machine.

Team is a real shambles and something has to happen if they want to try and save the season.

I was willing to give it 40 - 60 games for the team to gel, however ...
I've come to the point that a change is needed.
The longer Montgomery remains the greater the chance the season will be lost or more difficult to recover.
While I don't think Claude Julien would be the proper direction, they definitely need a proper defensive system.
I've seen too many forwards cheating through center ice hoping for a breakout pass only to have the puck intercepted in zone or dumped back deep into the zone with our forwards out past the red line.
Appearance is they are more concerned with transitioning to offense than playing defense.
I'm not a fan of this.
Take care of your own zone first, the offense will come.
Something has to change.

Ridiculous if based on performance

The comment by Monty is a lie no way he believes this
Everybody lies.

I dislike this team.

After Montgomery is let go (which may be soon; possibly, ironically, if the Bruins lay another egg in St. Louis Tuesday night, the team from whom Boston poached Sunny Jim), hopefully a new head coach who understands three zone play, tactics and strategy will police the Boston bench.

I take no pleasure watching Montgomery slowly twisting in the wind.

To mix metaphors, I am nonetheless desperate for Sweeney and Neely to pull the proverbial plug.

Montgomery will be scapegoated, a fate he deserves to a significant degree.

The Stockholm Twins (see: Stockholm Syndrome, i.e. those two sitting at the feet of Harry Sinden, whom they *still* consult) are unlikely to be moving on any time soon.

Rightly or wrongly, unfortunately or no, the Brain Trust on Causeway Street will likely turn to Jay Leach as the reliever, if not the ace.

I have noted repeatedly in this space that if I could wave a magic wand, I would tap Joel Quennville on the shoulder with it.

If they are unable or unwilling to do so, likely the case for a front office and ownership exceptionally allergic to bad publicity, I would interview Daryl Sutter, Gerard Gallant, and Mike Sullivan (he can move in with Charlie and his daughter).

(I like, respect and admire Claude Julien, but the game may have passed him by.

(In any case, Sweeney and Neely are not about to rehire the Stanley Cup winning coach they previously kicked to the curb in unceremonious fashion.

(And the guy, not to put too fine a point on it, primarily responsible for instituting and inculcating Boston's once vaunted, airtight defensive structure.

(You know, the one Sunny Jim evidently abandoned in favor of loosey goosey chaos.)

I am not saying Jay Leach would be a bad choice. Or a good choice. I have no idea.

Whatever management does, they better do it swiftly, before the season (and playoff gate) slips irrevocably through their fingers.

Cam and "Sweenes" are lucky their divisional rivals have started slowly as well.

Hence they may dawdle before swinging the inevitable axe.

On paper and, I believe, in fact, for once in Sweeney's tenure the Boston Bruins are actually built for the postseason. More, despite their recent play, Boston can reasonably claim legitimate contention for a deep playoff run, if not a trip to the finals.

The sooner they jettison Montgomery and hire a legitimate NHL head coach (or select whippersnapper Leach), the better.

Mercy, gentleman.

We shall see, 🚽 🧻 🪠 👀
