The truth is I think we would .500 or even a game or two above if we weren't missing key players. The question was always can we tread water long enough for the players to return. The answer is very clearly no.

I just realized Saad only played 9 minutes. The least of all forwards on the team. Unless hes injured i could see him asking out if this happens more.

Could be an injury, but more likely a benching. He played shortly before Bruins took the lead but neither he nor Texier saw the ice again. They were among our 4 worst forwards this game. They were the line we cut when we shortened the bench, not the 4th. Also, Saad didn't get much special teams time and there were a few PPs both ways

The Blues are not, and have not been a good possession team for many years. It goes well beyond face offs. If anything, this recent stretch of L’s they’ve done in by terrible puck management.

What I am trying to say is this. The lack of possession/lack of control with the puck is leading to everything else. Playing on heels all the time, playing back, and playing too much "defensive" hockey. Then they get down or tie it, and they try to be way too aggressive to try to take the lead, making an extra move at blue line or trying to force passes at blue line instead of dumping and chasing and so on.

We get PP and lose face off and no wonder how PP sucks. Easy save and then face off lose there goes another 25 seconds of PP after losing initial draw on PP too. There is almost 1 minute gone.

Suter should not be getting forced to play 23-25 minutes a night at his age. We brought him in to play bottom 4 minutes and he's getting forced to play top pair shut down minutes. Losing Leddy and Broberg dismantled our defense within the first 4 weeks of the season

Not the end of the world losing as long as the team’s out there competing and we end up with a solid draft pick. Once Thomas and Broberg went down, any real shot at a wild card spot was pretty much toast.

Yeah Fiddler is on my RD to check out list but I've seen Hensler be a one man transition on one too many highlight video's to not be like, "HIM! GET HIM! GET HIM NOW!". I'd love to have a non-broken top RD prospect, that would be so kewl.

My only issue with Holloway is that it feels like he gets caught by surprise way too often when a puck gets to him.

He seems like a high motor likable guy with low hockey IQ.
