2-3 on the home stand, outscored 12-19, albeit the big lopsided Caps game. Yuck.

I really don't understand what you all expect out of this team. We are a borderline playtoff team and we lost the absolute worst player to lose. Tthen we lost the probably 6th worst in Leddy. Broberg stepped up to cover Leddy and than some, and we lost him too. Why are you all continuously surprised when we don't have the horses to win?

No coach in the history of the NHL could lead this team to the playoffs without Thomas.

Neighbors has been a ghost at even strength for much of the year and Buch is morphing into Craig Janney. The guy will not shoot.

We get to be the BROONS signature win of the yr. Lovely.

Buch has been fairly frustrating to watch in the ozone this year, however, I’ve always liked his play with Thomas. I think we just severely lack scoring talent right now, Thomas being hurt really amplifies it. It also doesn’t help we don’t have a top 4 d man healthy currently, but regardless it just looks like there’s no direction to score unless it’s a tic tac toe play

People will look back on Walker hitting the post being the gamebreaker but in reality, if Kyrou and Neighbors score on their breakaways, its a blowout as well.

Both of them are garbage this season.

With our only skilled center out, what did we expect? We are not good. The lineup we are icing right now (sans Thomas) is bottom 5 in league in terms of offensive talent. We need our goalie to be outstanding to beat nearly anyone, unless our opponents phone it in and then we can steal points.

This team lacks possession of the puck at key time. Since Thomas has been out, here are the face-off percentage by game

Maple Leafs 32% W
Canadiens 56%
Sens 41%
Flyers 47%
Maple Leafs 35% W
Lightning 48% W
Utah 40%
Caps 54%
Bruins 46%

What's funny is they somehow managed to win the 2 games with the worst face-off percentage. They lack ability to win a key face off. It seems like every time we start PP or other team gets an icing call, it is lost and easy change or killing 25 seconds of PP.

Ya, it would be nice if he would play more direct in transition and in the o-zone, especially with the missing pieces when we need more pop. He’s become very predictable. People can s*** on Kyrou but he’s been playing direct and generating offense 5 on 5 even without key pieces which is encouraging. Buch…not so much. Though I get he’s being asked to do more heavy lifting this yr at C.

Our top 3 forwards in +/- is Bolduc at +2 and Holloway and Kyrou at +1. Suter is 2nd on Defense with a +1. Everyone else on the team is a negative.

Oh our #1 Dman in +/- is Broberg with a +6.

The Blues are not, and have not been a good possession team for many years. It goes well beyond face offs. If anything, this recent stretch of L’s they’ve done in by terrible puck management.

We have to play Hitch style hockey every night, balls to the wall every game and have great goaltending to have a chance. It’s just not an easy style night in and night out.

I just realized Saad only played 9 minutes. The least of all forwards on the team. Unless hes injured i could see him asking out if this happens more.

He is worst player on roster up front. Real disappointment. All of the other offseason acquisitions have met or exceeded expectations, but Tex has been fairly useless.
It's too bad. I was really excited and loved the acquisition, but his first game or two were pretty bad. Like alarming bad. He's had maybe 1.5-2 good games, so far and mostly looks lost.

I was super happy. Now I'm disappointed.

Why? He’s one of the least intense athletes I’ve observed. He’s making good money with no pressure and from the Blues perspective he’s the perfect warm body while the kids marinate. Hopefully we deal him for something decent at the deadline if we offer to retain. I don’t think too many contenders will be jumping for joy w Saad at $4.5 mil for another yr.
