To kick things off, I would like to introduce my latest Canadiens-themed artwork, a mosaic celebrating the Habs 2024-25 season
(higher resolution available here)
The Habs are currently bottom 3 in the league, and last place in goal differential. While we all hoped we'd be in the mix for the playoffs, it seems like we are more likely to be in the mix for a top-3 pick. With that being said, I thought I'd share some potential weapons that aren't on anyones radar as of yet.
Did anybody notice the new corporate sponsor in Thursdays broadcast? It seems like the Military is back recruiting again...
(did anybody notice the digital on ice advertisement was E-ZPass? the irony is killing me)
Even if you're the type of fan who is cheering for a better pick this year, I think that type of thinking goes out the window when the Habs play the Leafs. Thankfully for us, the Leafs are likely to derail the Habs drive for a better draft pick. Known as the ultimate tank busters, the leafs have a knack for reversing any tactical advantage, especially in critical moments. It's in their DNA.
Photo caption: The Leafs destroy another tank in the process of losing to a basement-dweller team they should have beat.
Case in point, the Habs previous game against the Leafs as part of the season opener. Hopefully the Habs can win tonight without relying on Montembeault having the game of his life.
If the Habs stick to their tactics, and if the Leafs are up to their usual tricks, the Habs should be able to beat them.
Go Habs Go! Beat those pesky Leafs so I can have one happy night this month from watching hockey!
I'll try to post line-ups later on in the day. Apparently Auston Matthews is out for this game.
