Bruins scoring 4 goals was great, but how they scored was even better.

Someone actually made a play to someone else who finished it. Pasta set up H Lidholm, Pasta setup Zacha, Coyle setup Koepke, E Lindholm setup Marchand. No broken plays, lucky bounces off someone else's butt. Good passes, on the tape, handled and deposited.

Still, goalie gives up a bad goal 20 seconds after they take a lead. Can't score on the power play. Captain takes a bad penalty; PK can't kill it. Blew 2 goal lead in third period.

Frederic moved to the 4th line, ends up -2. Koepke a +1 playing with Coyle line. May be time for Freddy to have a seat upstairs. Seems to drag down every line he plays on.

Some of Frederic's underlying numbers aren't horrible - 4th amongst Bruins forwards for corsi, 3rd in SCF%, 7th HDCF%. His lines are getting a fair amount of possession and shot attempts. But they start to go really south around actual goal-scoring - he's 8th in SF%, 11th in xGF%, 11th GF%. The Bruins' shot percentage when he's on the ice is a miserable 3.9% (interestingly it's even worse for Marchand) and their SV% is the worst at a lowly .878 when Freddy's around.

It feels like his general play is ok but his lines aren't generating enough of a serious scoring threat and they're giving up too many good chances the other way. That poor on ice SV% is making him look even worse but it's difficult to say how much that's just bad luck on his part. Overall not miles away, but not good enough either. Not impactful enough. A spell upstairs could well be earned and might do him good. Try that, see how he responds, and if it's still not going very well then he definitely becomes a trade option.

One guy certainly is tired of all the line switching

Korpisalo comes in as a goalie that has played 250+ games for the Sens, Kings and Columbus.
Crap, crap and crap... yet his numbers are decent plus was a teams #1.

4 million for a goalie with 250 games under his belt....not bad. Till 2028! Nice!. Plus we got Kastelic out of the deal who's been one of our best all around players.

I think the trade is working out fine.

What I'm waiting for is what is the upgrade in performance can we expect from Mister 8.25 in net? We were led to believe he's elite and we'd be crap without him.
So let's see how this plays out ...what 4 million gets us and what 8.25 does
Korpi’s cap hit is only $3M

Just trade one of the entitled don't fight cowardly overpaid vets like Carlo or Coyle and this crap will go away.
I think Carlo needs to look at some video of his PK work but I don't want to trade him.He needs to be engaging players parked in front of the net.Knies goal perfect example left alone.I watched Vegas later after that game and on their PK sure enough I saw same scenario except McNab was engaged.Carlo needs to get more greasy.

I said nearly half the money, Zacha, and Coyle is a lot cheaper also. Face it this is one shitty signing.
Okay, I misundertood. You would have been good with keeping Coyle and Zacha as 1 and 2 and getting a wing. Cool, that's a point of view that I don't think you are alone in. I still think E. Lindholm was a good signing, and will prove to be for a few seasons- he's a damn good player and isn't overpaid if you look around the league. It might be a poor deal on the back end, though. We'll have to see how he ages.

Bruins are spending 12.8% of cap on the 2 goalies.I am to lazy to look to see what NHL average is sorry.
NHL average gets you average goaltending. (Granted Bruins have gotten average goaltending so far this season.) Bruins are spending in the top5 on goalies but so are the Panthers and Lightning and it's worked out pretty well for them.

Fwiw, I think the Bruins are going to slide further down that list next year. The Rangers are middle of the pack in goalie spending right now but Shesterkin alone is going to make more than Swayman and Korpisalo combined. Ullmark and Oettinger's raises are going to kick in next year as well.

In a cap world for a goalie who is likely to play 20-25 games a year it is bad ... you save up every dollar for elite talent to be paid. Kastelic is nice early surprise but likely won´t held up his production, still I am fine with him as he has the potential to be a fan favorite. Still everything considered, helping out a divisional rival with taking this contract the trade is bad .. Swayman had no preseason, I will give him some time. Right now he isn´t the reason why the team isn´t winning ...
