The really fun news is we play at 11am tomorrow

Game was moved earlier due to the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers having a playoff game that day. There was a possibility that the game would be at home (until last saturday) so to avoid having both a home playoff football game and home Jets game at same time they moved the Jets game up 2 or 3 hours from originally scheduled.

i think DL should really pull the trigger on a goalie at this point
we're in almost every game despite our garbage roster
if we can get a goalie that will make that one extra save that Budaj can't, it'll be a difference maker

Geez, that makes me miss Jonathan Bernier, to the point I did make a proposal that the main boards treated like it's another Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol trade.

yeah Bernier would have been perfect
but Gibson isn't too hot in Anaheim so I doubt they'd move Bernier, let alone to the Kings
and even less so now that they've managed to sign both Rakell & Lindholm (still don't fully understand how they are allowed to go over the cap). I'm assuming it's because of Despres/Thompson both being on LTIR. Eventually they'll have to make a move, but by then, we probably won't have an urgent need for a solid backup

What the ****? There's a game tomorrow?! Which idiots came up with this schedule.
I kinda like it. Doesn't give us fans enough time to fully digest how bad this is going to be. Also can't get too much despair in the GDT's when it's already time for another debacle.
On the bright side, isn't one of WPG's centers out? Maybe it won't be that bad missing Kopi.

Thompson tore his Achilles so he's probably out for season. And it sort of sounds like Despres' career might be over. They were talking a lot about life after hockey when they were talking about his concussion.

Winnipeg is currently missing C Bryan Little (#1/2 C), RW Drew Stafford (#3 RW but should be lower), LW Mathieu Perreault (#2/3 LW), RD Tyler Myers (#3 D) at least. Perhaps another forward as they made their 4th forward call up today (already up are C Nic Petan, LW/C Andrew Copp, RW/LW Marko Dano) in C/LW/RW Quinton Howden. The sad part is the Jets have misevaluated their roster to the point that other than Little all the replacement parts are better than what they started the year with.

Without knowing their exact cap numbers, I'm assuming they feel pretty safe because Despres sounds like he may be done with hockey for good after his concussion issues.
I'm honestly kind of starting to feel the same way, but it's also tough to make moves when you don't know what your full roster can do....but it smarts being so good most nights yet not being able to get regulation wins due to shooting/goaltending/injury luck.

Their is finally some youth in the roster like you guys wanted. Forbort/Gravel/Dowd were visibly tired about the second period.
Not use to an NHL grind.
That is also the price you pay for adding youth to a roster. Let's remember that going forward, they are going to make more mistakes because of that as well.
Forbort/Gravel played hard, but they spent the majority of their shifts in their own zone, turning over pucks.

The Kings are still not 25 games into the season. So I am not really worried about anything other than injuries keep stacking up, Kopitar's lack of production. League is only 15 games into the season, long, long, long way to go.
Kopitar still has plenty of time to turn that around.

I see how this is going. Players who played in the World Cup that are injured. Gaborik? Check. Quick? Check. Kopitar? Check. Doughty & Muzzin? Rock, paper, scissors, one of you are next.

No Myers has been in all year. Trouba made his season debut. And myers got hurt.
Disrespected. Creates so many chances but buried in ahl or on 4th line. Still scoring at a 2nd line rate on 4th line. Hed be a godsend if he could get to la to play on kopis wing. Hes the absolute perfect fit for kopi.

That would be coming back home in a way since Columbus used our #1 pick to get him. And our pipeline is pretty dry.
We could use that second-line scoring. Not many players seem to get playing with Kopitah.

Dano's not overly fast, but thinks the game at an elite level. Very smart and finds the soft areas of the ice very well. Perfect for Kopitar to get him the puck in the cycle. Dano also loves to mix it up, despite being only 5'11'' he loves to drive the net, work the corners and be a pest. Creative as well with really great on ice vision. He'd be such a great pickup for the Kings. His defensive game can be lax at times and his top end speed is not great are his biggest weaknesses.
But I don't see how a trade would work. Not sure what LA has that would equal Dano in a trade, everything is either worth alot more and alot less.
Expansion could be another issue. Kings would have to go 7-3 if they picked up another forward they needed to protect. I'm assuming they wouldn't trade for someone to leave them exposed.
Is WPG looking at the 7-3 option or the 4-4? If they were going 4-4 maybe Dano would be available. Then you just have to worry about price.
